Beautiful lake surround with mountains and we biked around the lake. Whole trail about 20 minutes, nice a little bit work out, and rent a bike is easy, 100 nt until 5:00pm.

One of the more "worth-it" attractions to visit in hualien. While it is not spectacular, it is beautiful and quiet. You can choose to rent a bike and cycle around the lake, or hire a paddle boat for an hour to enjoy the scenery :)

Generally in China is not allowed to swim on most natural places because it's believed not to be safe. Most of people can't swim and Taiwan is not an exception. So that's probably the reason.
