Perhaps the park should consider shutting down the road to tour buses and card. Way too busy and crowded - this is supposed to be a national park - There has to be a balance between tourism and the natural world and unfortunately it's a...More

Stunning, amazing, spectacular. I've travelled the world and this is a highlight. To make it even better, we were off season, late May, so fewer people and cars which is important when you walk the road along the gorge for pictures.

Don't miss a trip up the Taroko Gorge. The vertical marble cliffs are spectacular and so high. At times the Gorge is very narrow and this adds to the drama! There are various places to visit on the way up.

Whilst it clearly has potential and transport links are good, it wasn't as amazing as we hoped it would be. The trails are all one way so you have to rewalk every route and lack variety, as well as being short. Most of the best...More

Highly recommended, absolutely the nightlight in Hualien. Basically can book a full day driver guy and show you around. The national park is huge and would be much convenience to visit by car. Otherwise there is bus as well but always full.

Most memorable day in Taiwan. We did it self-drive in a hire car, only having 24 hours to get there, see the gorge and get back to Taipei. We fitted all that in, though the drive was gruelling. But once you are in the gorge,...More

A walk along the roadway beside this gorge is a must. The river has over centuries cut a dramatic path through the marble. It really is a photographers dream with many vantage points. Highly recommended.

The hop on and off bus offered a good service. The gorge is stunning, however a few of the places were unfortunately closed due to weather damage so maybe try and check before getting off at each stop as to whether you can actually see...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Hi everyone. It seems like the road is pretty much narrow, I'm wondering if there are car parks at Tunnel of Nine Turns, Swallow Cave and Cimu Bridge where we can park our car then walk around for a wee while please. I don't wanna cause nuisance to other road users. If yes, can anyone tell me where they are situated exactly please? Just beside these places? Thank you very much.
