One of my favorite places in hualien so far, really pretty for those who like nature. Unfurtunately I did not had a lot of time to explore, actually just one day, which I just went to the turist store? Located next to the train station, if you need a guild that speaks in english, is better to book before otherwise... More

I have to write this review to Thank Tonny. He is not just a car driver but a tourist guide and a helpful english speaking local as well. Some things I will guarantee you about Tony. 1. He will encourage you to explore Taroko to the fullest. I remember he challenged us to hike the temple with a huge bell... More

Good walking trail with beautiful views of the gorges and river. The walking trail is partly paved by used train tracks, which is quite unique. It can be crowded and noisy on weekends.

taroko is a amazing place, the mountain there is grand and huge!there is some trail you must to walk, like baying or lushui trail can try it,noneed to spend many time can have awesome view! If you got a license to ride a motobike or scooter, rent it!you can experience in first line!!

Our party of 5 seniors spent the better part of a day driving around in an 8-seater driven by Mr. Dai who used to be a tour guide. He is a safe, knowledgeable and flexible guide who quickly adapted to our physical limitations and interests. At S$200 for the day, it was quite worthwhile. The area is described as one... More

Early morning is the best time to visit the gorge before tourist buses pack the narrow road. Leave the car and take a walk along the fence to enjoy the beautiful unique nature.

I enjoyed seeing the foggy mountains and water streams because I don't see that in SG. The patterns in the rocks just show how much time and pressure the place has gone through. However, if you are not a nature person, it may just be rocks, water and mountains to you. Best to get around with a driver. Saves so... More

We hired a private driver/guide from our hotel the Farglory. The guide drove us to all the popular locations, and dropped us off to hike. Lunch at the aboriginal restaurant was great. I'd love to go back for more than one day.

Taroko Gorge is an amazing natural wonder only an hour from Hualien. Tours are available ($30/person) and you can rent a cab from Taiwan (About $60) for half a day. Some of the trails are closed due to avalanches so do your research. You really need a car to fully explore this gorgeous park in any depth. It's a paradise... More
