The highway cycling route is really easy, downhill all the way! Make your own pit stops along the way for scenic trekking trails, hilltop temples and waterfalls. Just have to be cautious when cycling on the road/highway, though generally vehicles passed us cautiously themselves and honked to alert us from behind. Anyway no need to hurry, stay safe and enjoy... More

My highly recommend after Huangshan or Yellow Mountains in Henan Province in China, Gangthei in Bhutan or Zhangjiajie Avatar movies in Hunan Province and Yosemite Valley California. Speechless, what a wonderful world of Taroko Gorge, I amazed by the mountains when was shining wonderfully in many forms, huge stones with many forms and colors especially combination between gold and silver,... We booked this trip through Viator and it was in turn picked up by Edison Travel. The Taroko Gorge itself and all the sights and scenery are definitely 5 star. A must see if you are in Taiwan. The pictures don't do it justice. The hotel pick up and the train rides were fine. What wasn't 5 star was the... More

Taroko Gorge is a must-see and is beautiful. We did a day tour from Taipei which was a long day but worth it. There are many wonderful rock formations to see and temples around. We are glad we went - the tour company was Edison Tours - well organised overall but we found the local guide hard to understand. Being... More

I cannot imagine a trip to Taiwan without visiting the gorge. Its a painting come to life, with plenty of hiking spots and photo opportunities. I'm already looking forward to an eventual return trip.

We spent the whole day at Taroko National Park, which offers probably the most beautiful natural scenery in Taiwan. The visit requires some hiking so be prepared for some exercise in order to enjoy the breathtaking view.

Had a blast at Taroko gorge. The view was breathtaking, my local guide was super friendly and funny. People in Hua Lien are very easy going. Didn't know inbred a permit to hike the most beautiful trail. Definitely will come back again

We were so disappointed with our visit to Taroko Park. We wanted to escape the city for some peace and quiet hiking in the park - however we visited over the weekend and found it to be incredibly busy, noisy and polluted. The park is spoilt by huge congested roads that criss cross through it and there was visible signs... More

Honestly , if you had to visit just one place in Taiwan , this is THE one ! It is just breathtaking, amazing , so beautiful . No words can really describe the feeling on seeing those 500m-700m high gorges from the bottom and be able to walk through it . Also , do not miss to walk a couple... More
