Four of us went to visit and have lunch! It is the traditional place, hot, loud, and busy! We did find a place with air condition to sit down and ordered food from 4 different Vendors. We're pleased at what we have, especially the Hsinchu rice noodles with beef.

If you are in Hsin Chu - the Cheng Huang Temple is a must visit! Not only for the cultural sites but also to taste the real Taiwanese "street food". Very famous are the meat or fishball soups and the Hsin Chu rice noodles! You can also get everything as take away.

Many eatery at this part of the "old town" all selling the famous meat balls and rice noodle. No lack of choices... Temple has very nice lanterns during the Chinese New Year period still on display even in March.

Visited this temple on Sunday morning. Temple is in a core city area. I used hotel shuttle to reach there.. Temple is old & maintained.. Its a cluster of small temples. Very traditional & colorful. Being a outsider person, I was not having background about the temple. There is one small board at the main gate of the temple which... More

Ever since I was little kid, I always enjoyed going to there with my dad. It was a huge place when I was a little kid. After many years, it looks smaller, but the yummy food remains. For Oyster pancake, Wang's is #1. For wrapping pancake (Taiwanese burrito), the one by the entrance is still #1 with long waiting line.... More

I was a bit disappointed after reading all of the positive reviews. To me, it is typical night market though it was nice to have the temple atmosphere as well. If you are stopping through Hsinchu it may be a good place to check out for some cheap eats.

This is a very interesting temple with a couple of annexes, but is also an enclosed food court with some produce and chickens thrown in besides. I got a lot of pleasing (to me) pictures here. Come and pray, and eat, and then shop all in one stop. The feed looked very good, the cooks and customers seemed very happy.... More

Hsinchu was our first stop over for the night after landing in Taoyuan airport. Had read about this place for food good street/local food and hence selected a hotel (Forte Hotel) which was walking distance to this place. We came here for dinner. It was not not difficult to find. The food place (or food court) is located inside the... More
