The tower seems to stand out over the fort at various points.

The point it stands on gives good views as well.

Little gallery underneath that comes in at 2000LKR. Ticket gives entry to 2 other locations. At that price for a small gallery we passed.

Lovely spot though

The Galle Clock Tower stands over 25 metres tall and overlooks the central Moon Bastion. There are so many historical sites around the clock tower.

Galle Fort Clock Tower is locates at the front side of galle fort. It is being used as the icon of the Galle city. Must visit place in Galle. It is next to Galle International cricket stadium and locals used this as a pavilion for watching cricket match.

Galle is one of Sri Lanka's most populous cities. This beachside paradise in the southwest of the island is one of the most well-known in the entire country because of its historical significance. It served as the island's main port until the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century. While traveling, look out for fishermen selling their wares along the side of the road and take in the stunning green and turquoise beaches that line it. Tell our chauffeur if you wish to bury your toes in the sand. There are two possibilities regarding the origin of Galle's current name. You can have a unique experience while walking on Galle Fort by gazing down and taking in the view of the sea. You may take in the sunset over the fort in the evening. Once the sun has set, return to the port carrying priceless memories

A nice clock tower. Lots of towns have clock towers, sometimes prominent, often overlooked. It's hard to miss this one, at the entrance wall to the old town overlooking the town in one direction and the cricket ground the other. It just stands there as part of the proud heritage of this wonderful small area. . Lots of towns have clock towers, sometimes prominent, often overlooked. This is an attractive clock tower relatively easy to find at the top of a stone ramp on the fortifications in the South-West corner of Galle fort. From here you get good views both out to sea and inland across the famous Galle cricket ground. Also, you'll find some interesting statues at the base of the clock tower that I believe relate to the era of the Dutch military rule. Worth a look.

The Clock Tower is in a great section of the Fortifications and has some interesting statues depicting the Dutch military occupation of the Fort back in the 1600's. From the Tower the ramparts jut out into the Indian Ocean and you can feel the history of the site.
