This mosque is painted in white near the southern part of the fort of Galle. From the looks you will not say that this is a Mosque probably more to a Christian church.

On the path around Galle. You will not miss it as it is nicely refreshed. Makes a nice fit to the colonial buildings in the nearby streets.

This is a very pleasant looking building opposite the lighthouse. It is well worth having a look at as you walk along the fortifications of the old fort.

If you time your visit well, the end of call to prayers is concluded with a beautiful vocal, which is audible from the street. The melody is haunting & really quite moving.

In a former church, the mosque is open to see, and you can go in if you ask nicely. Shoes off. It is actively used (by men...the women’s section is in another building) so visiting at prayer times is awkward. Not especially historic.

It looks really peaceful. The architectural design is different and beautiful. Many tourists are seen entering the mosque. A nice view from the fort wall as well.

Heading toward it, you will be forgiven for thinking this was either a Christian church or a mansion. A look at the crescent moons on top reviews its true purpose. It is located on the south side of the fort. The need for a mosque in a city associated with European trading nations reflects the diversity of Galle over the centuries.

An unusual mosque built with definite Dutch architecture. It was clean and seemed to service many Muslims who lived right in the neighborhood
