Information about China Town could be found in many tourist sources, so we decided to visit Incheon, including this place. We went there on a Wednesday. It was totally empty early in the evening and by 7-8 pm many restaurants were already closed. Maybe there is more going on in summer.

It has been my tradition to visit the Chinatown where ever l am overseas. I was not sure what to expect of Chinatown in Icheon.
I can say this is the largest one in terms of size. If you walk it will take many hours. The place is hilly so will be tiring. Our group took a motorised tour of 45 minutes with one stop at the mayor's residence.
You do not see the typical street vendors of Chinese food and household items. You get modern cafes and Chinese restaurants. Not sure the Chinese restaurants give authentic Chinese cuisine. We ate lunch of noodles and sweet and sour pork at one of the Chinese restaurants. The noodles were closer to Korean rather than Chinese noodles.
If you are looking for history of Chinese and Korean interactions over the last 100 years you are in the right place. You will see typical Chinese and Korean architecture. Also, typical classic Chinese fables and the like.
On sep 1, Chinatown had a special event festival so the place was crowded.
I think this is a must visit for those interested in Chinese history and stories.

This is the only officially designated Chinatown in Korea. Incheon has long been and still is the country's window to the world. The Chinatown, with its proximity to the port area, marks the long history of the Chinese diaspora. It is still a lively neighborhood with many restaurants of Chinese characteristics. Popular among locals, it is quite an interesting place to explore.

Visiting Incheon Chinatown on Lunar New Year’s Day wasn’t the best idea as the area was packed with visitors. Other than the Chinese gate and the high concentration of Chinese restaurants, the area really isn’t much of an attraction. The constant traffic along the narrow streets (can’t understand why anyone would willingly drive through those streets) is just stressful to deal with and the Chinese restaurants sell the same Koreanized menu found at any other Chinese restaurants but at inflated prices.

I visited here recently. I got here via the “Incheon City Tour” (reviewed separately), which is a hop on, hop off bus tour. I absolutely loved this area. I got some very cool souvenirs for reasonable prices. I only spent an hour here, but I wish I had more time - it wasn’t enough!

I visited Chinatown with a friend from another area with the intention of introducing him to Incheon. It was great to be able to taste a variety of Chinese food! I also recommend taking the Wolmi Sea Train near Chinatown.

you no longer can arrive Chinatown via Incheon Suwbway Train Station, as it has closed. You can't use line one or Singpu line (yellow colored line). You have to start walked around 22 min from Dongincheon subway train station.

What is the best way to go to Chinatown from Incheon airport?
Written 18 September 2019
Taxi is quickest, and it will probably cost around 50,000 won (~45 USD) and take about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
If you want to take the scenic route, you can board the 306 bus from outside the arrivals hall at Terminal 1--it will take you to Dong Incheon Station, which is about a 52 minute ride across the northern bridge connecting the airport island to the mainland. At Dong Incheon Station, you are almost at the end of Line 1, which ends at Chinatown. Hop on the train for two stops, come out of Exit 1, and there you are! Chinatown is across the street. Total cost: ~2,500 won.

No, no KTX nearby, but you can take the Incheon 1 Metro Line from the terminus at Incheon (right across the street from the gates to Chinatown) and go to Seoul Station and catch the KTX there, It takes about 70-75 minutes.

Hi all, i intend to visit Incheon chinatown on the last day in Korea, will be coming down from Seoul. May i know how do i get to the airport from here? My flight will be at 11pm. Thank you.
Written 15 July 2018
I’m so sorry no one answered your question on time! But I will answer it just in case other people have the same question. You can take a cab to the airport, it will take around 30,000won. Or you can take the public bus number 307 from Chinatown to “서부공단입구”, and then transfer to bus number 111 and get off at Incheon Airport floor 3.

Bryan M is right. Venturing out to Seoul, which is 1 hour bus or taxi ride away, to spend your layover time is a bit difficult. There is a much better and safer way to utilize your layover time though. You can try "Incheon Airport Culture Tour Program" which is free guided tour led by English speaking guide for transit passengers. You can choose 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, 4 hour, or 5 hour tour depending on the time of the day and how many hours you can spend for the tour. Just Google it by keying in keywords "ICN free transit tour", and clicking the search result "Free transit tour" which usually shows up on or near top. The site is Incheon Airport site. There, you can click "Free Transit Tour" tab, and look through the choices, and join the tour(s) of your choice. Details on reserving and joining these tours shown on the website. Since these guided tours are starting from the airport and ending at the airport you don't have to face uncertainties and anxieties explained by Bryan M.
Enjoy your free cultural tour aboard a comfortable tour bus!

Hi, we are visiting by cruise ship in march, thinking of staying in Incheon, are there hop on hop off buses or a little tourist train that takes you round the city ?
Written 31 January 2017
Yes, you can take "Incheon City Bus Tour". You can buy the ticket at Tourist Information Center or from the Driver. It's Hop On Hop Off Bus which run around Incheon (Chinatown - Wolmido - Songdo Areas).
Will you stay over night at Incheon too? I would like to reccommend you to stay at "Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Hotel". It's very good hotel in Hanok Style (Korean Traditional House)... but have modern facitities. It's located in Songdo Area and not too far from Subway Station - Central Park (Incheon 1 Line). It's also connect with Central Park Songdo, Hanok Village Restaurant, Shopping Centers, etc.
