We stayed for 2days/ 1 night and would have extended if we had the time. The good - among the visitors are a lot of Koreans and you will get to know that many of them want to connect to budism closer than just visiting...More

I stayed at the temple for 4 nights. My motivation was to experience the life of the temple fully (getting up at 4, eating vegetarian Korean food, train sunmudo, practice archery, meditate etc.) I did not bring in any snacks, used my phone rarely and...More

This experience is quite unique, and I would recommend a Temple stay here after doing a fair amount of research in advance of selecting the location. Be prepared to be pushed with the 4am wake up and martial arts training--much of it put me outside...More

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend temple stay at Golgulsa. Moon, the coordinator is extraordinarily sweet, friendly and helpful. There is a schedule of activities and I would suggest getting there in the early afternoon so you can partake in them all. The tea ceremony with...More

Did a one day temple stay here and really enjoyed it. I had not originally planned to stay here, I was visiting to watch the Sunmudo performance but after seeing the signs and speaking to the extremely helpful and informative Luna I decided to stay....More

Stayed here with two friends for chuseok. It was great fun; wonderful grounds, really interesting explanation of Buddhist practices, meditation and of course sunmudo (martial art) instruction. Would recommend!

If you can climb rocks and steep hills this is perfect for you. You can even see a martial arts demo by the residing monks. Very impressive. Lots of history.

Amazing place to enjoy a temple stay. Combination of Buddhist monks and martial arts (Sunmudo) is a quaint but excellent experience.

Visited here 15 years ago and had great memories of what it was then. Unfortunately for us, it's become a must see tourist destination and we feel lost some of its soul. It's still a place you must visit, but it was over run with...More

I have noted from several reviews that there are activities arranged if you wish to stay there. I'm probably going to stay at GyeongJu for two days and I wanna know how packed is their schedule? I'm hoping to see other places as well (ie, Bulguksa Temple, Anapji Pond) and if the schedule at the temple is really packed I might just go to the temple for a look and not stay there. Cuz it seems like a waste if I pay 50/60k won and not partake in their activities
