A Spiritual Experience
Dec 2019
Gorgeous views and calm waters. We took a short cruise here, complete with praise music and refreshments. This made for a refreshing stop made perfect by the warm sun and cool breeze. Check beforehand to insure against inclement weather.

Pearl of the Galilee
Nov 2020 • Family
This lake, the pearl of the Galilee, is a sight for a sore eye throughout the year. Hopefully its water level will reach its top after over 10 years of low.

Take a "Jesus Boat" for a Moving Experience
Dec 2019
Beautiful to look at, but a cruise on a "Jesus Boat" makes for a moving and memorable journey. Look up while on the Sea of Galilee to the imposing Mount Arbel. Life focuses on the sea, its history and the abundant food is provides, such as the St. Peter's Fish. Learn more about the unique geological and weather conditions that can turn this tranquil body of water into a raging sea. Such a treat to experience this Biblically historical Sea of Galilee!

Nothing Special
Dec 2019 • Friends
Too a boat ride on this Sea of Galilee which is actually a freshwater lake and the 2nd lowest lake in the world. Perhaps the weather wasn't great and hence found the lake just ordinary.

Boat on the Sea of Galilee
Feb 2020
A boat trip on the Sea of Galilee is a must. We started with the "museum" of the Jesus boat. It's an interesting 10 minute or so video and then an hour boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. It was so peaceful & yet a very emotional experience to be out on the same waters that were so central to Jesus' ministry. I could have stayed out there for hours.

A place for fresh water recreation for Israelis
Oct 2020 • Family
This is a large (21 x 13 km) fresh water lake in northern Israel. As stated above and as seen in my numerous photos (which I hope that you’ll enjoy and “like”), Israeli citizens flock here to enjoy the water- swimming, boating and fishing.
That’s what we did- we were in the little city of Tiberias on the western shore and didn’t find the city beach appropriate for us, nor the Hukuk Beach either.
So we descended to an unmarked unregulated uncontrolled (and dare I say unauthorized) side of the lake. There, we tried to pitch a tent but ended up just enjoying venturing out into the pleasant waters- it’s essential to wear water shoes- it’s very rocky. We watched others on their two person speed boats (see my photos).
There were both Jewish and Arab families sharing the plot of shoreline.
Of course the area of the Sea of Galilee is important, significant and meaningful in the Christian tradition.
.... but for we Israeli Jews and Arabs, it is a place of recreation... and fishing... and our country’s main source of fresh water... so please consider us and be careful what you do when you enter the Ester.

The kineret lake is wonderful, full of water, view from the golan heights is astonishing. Pitty there are no places to buy ice cream or another light food while walking alongside.

Wonderful water of the Kineret
Jul 2020 • Family
Kineret is the sweet water lake of Israel with perfect temperature and nice beaches all around. You may stay in a tent or a luxury hotel but you must visit this shiny beautiful lake.

Bucket List Experience
Aug 2019
What an absolute amazing experience. We sailed for an hour that felt like a minute. I could have stayed on the boat the whole day. It was a quiet sunny day. that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Boat trip on Sea of Galilee
Feb 2020
I would say no tour of the Holy Land is complete without a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee. Our tour guide Sam, was constantly updating our itinerary to help make this the best trip possible. Many of us on the tour it was our first time to the Holy Land. The day we did the boat trip the weather was warm, sunny and the sea was calm. Our trip was no more than 20-30 minutes, but it was a pleasant enough trip. The next day the water was rough and choppy. We were on the Sea of Galilee Praise Boat. So there was singing on this ship.

We will be staying near Ginosar for a few days can we join a Boat Tour to go out on the lake ? and is it ok to circumnavigate the lake in a rental car ? TIA

A boat ride on the Sea of Galilee can be taken from Kibbutz Nof Ginosar either to Tiberias or Kibbutz Ein Gev or as a round trip. Traveling around the lake by car is available with most roads running close to the lake. But I am not sure of the route in the northeast as that is the Golan area.

Hello. I'm going to stay in Galilee area for 2 days and looking for a Christian day tour suggestion that will originate in the area rather than Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

We are trying to figure out how to pack for November 12 - 21. Is it chilly then at Galilee, so better to wear jeans or shorts?

I always wore my long trousers. Jean's / some light touches. It is still hot under the sun and gets cooler as soon as the sun go down. It can rain at times. Take a one light warm jacket/ wind breaker for the evening walks or short burst of rain. We washed our clothes in the hotel as we travelled. Travel light makes life much easier.
Have a great trip.

Cruiser45: I entered your question into a Google search bar and found the answer: Yes there is parking along the Yigal Alon promenade. TripAdvisor won't allow posting the website, but search for Yigal Alon and you'll find many sources of information. Enjoy! I certainly did.

É possível, mas o custo é bem elevado. Talvez em janeiro seja mais fácil.

I need to travel from Jerusalem to the Mount of Beatitudes.
What is the cheapest and good method of transport?

Probably a bus from Jerusalem to Tiberius and then a cab to the Mount of Beatitudes. I don't think there is any public transportation there

Any companies that go out for boat trips on Saturdays?

Yes, we took a Christian boat . I think they go out on Saturdays also. I don’t know the name of it as it was part of a tour package. The boat itself was named the Praise boat and they played Christian music.
