During my vacation to Israel I visited the Diamond Exchange in RamatGan as I was looking to purchase a Diamond Ring for my girlfriend. I was told prices are really attractive in Israel. So I asked my tour guide to take me there after I visited the outside stores I understood that my guide would be getting commissions on my purchase and that's how it works and prices were not cheap compared to the U.S. in the stores outside around the Diamond complex.
I opened the net and and came upon a a store SIA diamond jewelry located inside the building. Called them up and they welcomed me with a pass to visit their office in macabe building.
My experience was great with them.
I got a great price with GIA certification and purchased a beautiful Diamond Ring even got service of delivery untill my hotel room door after the ring was ready the next day after the gold sizing job was complete.
I wish to share my experience with more traveller's that won't stumble upon cheaters and can have a memorable experience of shopping at the right place where you can trust "what you buy is genuinely what you get"
I was very satisfied.

There was a rep for the center at my hotel. He called us a cab and informed the center i spoke english. When we arrived with your rep you are greeted with a person who speaks your language. The museum is pretty cool and very informative. Knowing that 72% of all diamonds in the world are cut here in this district is pretty awesome. I would have loved to see and explore the museum on my own. They quickly just move you through the museum so they can get to the sales. The sales floor has lots of people and they push super hard for a purchase. It is REALLY good prices and lots of unique items for sale. I didn't like the agressive sales pitch I would have purchased if I was left to my own accord. When you are done they get you another taxi back to your hotel.

The Israel Diamond Exchange has been the world's leading diamond exporter. In recent years, activity has declined, but it is still one of the world's largest diamond and gem trade centers, with hundreds of offices and thousands of employees in the four buildings of the stock exchange. The TASE buildings are considered one of the safest and safest places in the State of Israel

BUYER BEWARE...Diamond Exchange in Tiberius, IS, totally ripped me off. I bought a blue diamond, knew it was treated but when I asked if it was treated he lied and said emphatically NO, never, my diamonds are never treated. I didn’t look at the certificate of authenticity until we were in another city and I had no way of going back but the certificate even said the diamond was treated. They saw me coming, saw how badly I wanted a “blue” diamond, and way overcharged me. When I got back to USA, I researched how much a diamond like mine is actually sells for and I got ripped off big time. If he had been honest I probably would have bought it anyway but now I just feel like I’ve been cheated. I should have researched its value before paying so much and trusting they would be honest. Very Disappointed in this Israeli Diamond Exchange. I should have stuck to my first rule of negotiation...Never want something so much that you can’t walk away and never let them see how much you want it.

We were given a short lecture on diamonds, which was not too informative but i guess would have provided a nice overview for those who know nothing about how diamonds are formed, found, evaluated and etc.
The jewelery store was beautiful though. You can score a great deal on a stunning piece of jewelery there.

You do not see diamonds being cut or polished, however the tour is very informative. The member who took us to had a showroom he took us to at end of tour. We did not buy, found no real bargains.

IDC consists of 4 buildings which are interconnected. Most of the diamond companies are located within these four buildings. They have banks and cafes inside. For entry you need to know someone inside the building.

The diamond exchange is big and don't feel pressured into buying anything as there are a lot of good diamond shops around the exchange so take your time and compare with the other shops

Biggest and safest diamond exchange or bourse in the world. The exchange comprises 4 buildings and is like a world of its own with banks, customs, post office, restaurants, mobile phone company. Etc. Once inside the compound you move freely and safely with your goods.
