Tradition says that the Church of St Joseph is built over the carpentry workshop of the husband of the Virgin Mary. While there is no "hard" evidence to support the claim, it is still inspiring, with a series of caves underneath, that have been used...More

Close to the basilica is this smaller church with a well in the catacombs. When we were there chanting was going on which made it particularly magical

This is a must place to see for catholics who have a devotion to the spouse of the Virgin Mary. Very serene place and you can see the ruins at the basement of the church.

St. Joseph is included in the Basilica compound so can visit both. Under both churches you can see the remnants of old Nazareth

This church is located next to the Church of the Annunciation. This church is dedicated to Joseph and it's a lot smaller, but with that said it lends to the spirit of the place. There was a mass at the time I visited, very spiritual.

Situated close by the Church of the Annunciation, you could easily miss this little church. What a find it is though. So quiet and peaceful, not ornate and fussy like some of the churches visited, good to look round then sit and reflect before going...More

There is no entrance to St Joseph Church from Al-Bishara street ! We didn't know that, and a map of Nazareth doesn't show where the entrance to this church is. So, if you there without a guide, go to the Basilica of the Annunciation. St...More

Next to the Basilica of the Annunciation, this Church is usually overlooked at the far end of the complex and much quieter. Downstairs preserve ancient Nazareth structure that might be Joseph's workshop according to Church tradition.
