No doubt Kelimutu is a beautiful place, at a level with Bromo or Semeru. And the surrounding is well maintained, no litter and no agressive sales. Why only two stars: I hate the habit of the Indonesian goverment to charge foreigners 30 times as much as locals. Tourist coming by bus will probably not notice. Think of having to pay... More

Visited mt kelimutu in the morning and afternoon. In the morning, it was foggy and we could not catch the sunrise. We went again in the afternoon. (Do note that your ticket entitles you multiple entry into the lake for the day, so we went the 2nd time in the afternoon). In fact, the afternoon view is clearer and there... More

Beautiful sunrise, lovely lakes and interesting stories to go with them. This is an easy 40-60 min walk up a well formed trail with a short climb and some steps at the end. Just like the pictures.

I climbed Mount Kelimutu before sunrise, starting at 04:00 am from the lodge with 6 of my friends. It is considered easy climbing with firm stairs in comparison to the climb at Padar Island Hill. The scenes in the top of the Kelimutu Mount looking at the three volcanic craters with 3 different colors are just excellent, breath-taking. Make sure... More

Just awesome!! We rented a scooter for 24 hours at the tourist info. It cost the same price as the guesthouses charge for 2 ojeks for just a few hours. So we got drive up in the morning and evening to see the amazing colours of the lakes :)

Best activities in the morning, you do hiking a little bit and enjoy the clean and fresh air. Not only good for your body but also good for the soul. With an amazing view you will feel relax and letting go bad vibrate. Better go straight to the peak, and wait for the sun rises. Take a moment to close... More

Catch the sunrise! You can get here via hiring an ojek or private taxi. It can get a tad bit cold in the morning so bring a jacket. To get here on time leave Moni at 4am. There is an entrance free of Rp 150,000 for foreigners or Rp 5000 for locals (Yes rip off). But views are definitely amazing

3 lakes in 3 different colors, the colors have changed over time. You need to get up really early (about 4 AM) to get there before sunrise, but really worth to enjoy the serene view.
