In short I must say that this temple is very unique and made me want to come back again next time. Unique because it were made from red bricks. Not like Javanesee temple or other temple in... More

I just found this temple from my car rental driver in jambi, after my 6th time of visiting Jambi. The temple complex was quite big, almost half of Prambanan temple. The place was quite clean and you could find souvenir shop and food stall there. Oh ya, the local provide bicycle for rent at very reasonable price (IDR 10.000 or... More

The Muarojambi Temple Complex was dated to 7A.D. and holds an important part of the Malay history. It is unique since the temples were built using bricks rather than volcanic rocks like most temples found in Indonesia. To reach the location is relatively easy from the Jambi city, we could rent a car from hotel and take us to the... More

This is an enormous archeological site, filled with semi-excavated temples. The historical importance can't be over emphasized and it is really very interesting to see. I recommend going from Jambi City by boat and returning by car as our group did. This is not to be missed.

this place used to be sriwijaya kingdom's university. it is believed that the total site is larger than angkor wat. but it's not maintained properly. lots of bushes attract mosquitos, the pathways are dirty and muddy, river cruise in a small river full of trash. foods are expensive. bring your own water and food. and any picnic equipment. you can...
