Basically, this is the traditional market in Surakarta. If you want to find cheap Batik, you can find it here. However, i prefer to go to Laweyan for such product due to the over crowd at this place.

The batik market is good if you want find some souvenirs or if you like batik clothes. If you dont like both, dont go there. Its really crowdy, walkway is really small and it hot, smelly and sweaty in there.

Went here on Sunday morning at 9.30am. Not all stores are open yet but every single store is selling batik clothes and dress. Price is cheap and negotiable.

No. Klewer market is not the only one. but it is one of the oldest market and good bargain.
