Jodipan, also known as Rainbow Village, is a neighborhood in Malang. The houses and streets are painted in vibrant colors with graffiti. I imagine they did this as a way to attract tourism to a humble neighborhood. It's very enjoyable to stroll around there. They charge a small entrance fee, but it's definitely worth it.

This is a must-see in Malang :) Plenty of colorful buildings, cool graffiti and amazing people that live there day by day. Also to try is the very delicious ice on a stick for a slim dollar. Best to visit with a graffiti tour. You can dive deep into Malang culture with that visit.

Seriously. Nothing to shout about. There are many other authentic villages worth visiting, and this should not be one of them. I gave two stars for the colours but then, the colours seem faded. And until this moment I don't know why this place is painted. For photographs, one can simply spend 5 minutes at the bridge over Brantas River and take some pictures without having to pay to unfriendly 'ticketmasters'

Rainbow village is really an experience. Wherever you turn, you face a rainbow of colours. What a lovely way to turn a poor community into something that tourists want to visit. I hope they collect enough funds to keep up the maintenance of these colours.

Worth a visit! For around 3k a person, you get entry into this spectacular little village. Lots of photo ops and Insta shots.
As a blonde tourist, I got stopped about 20+ times by locals asking to take photos with me, but it was really fun getting to meet people!
This project is fascinating and absolutely worth spending an hour or two in!
Support local business inside if you can.
Tip: mid day is HOT. Early morning is the best time to go for the weather. Bring your camera and lots of small rupiah.
Beautiful! I will absolutely return again next time I’m in Malang.

When the train was about arriving at Malang Baru Train Station, it must be passed a colorful village. I saw from the train and amazed, "What a colorful village, I will visit it!"
So on my second day in Malang, I visit this village in the morning. The entrance cheap is relatively cheap. All homes in this village are simple and typical of Indonesian home, but they are so colorful like a rainbow.
There is a transparent bridge so the visitors can use that and see the view from top. People who loves selfie will be happy because many beautiful spot and instagramable can be found here.
I salute on people of this village, they are creative and have sense of art :) Kudos.

If you are in Malang definitely stop by the rainbow village to support the community and take a lot of cool pictures. Locals with help of students and military transformed this slum in a piece of art. You will ne Happy to share their smile, the way of leaving on the village and some food and drinks to take a nice break. Entrance fee is IDR 3000 twice because the village is divided in two parts. Totally worth it knowing that for this price you even get a nice key chain as a souvenir.

Let’s get one thing straight - this place is popular! It’s so popular you may not be able to get good shots without having others in your shot☺️ So do choose odd hours and non-local holidays. It’s paint job done well on the very local typical dwellings of native Malang, arranged in rows tightly next to each other, some wall to wall. So you’ll get the feel of being in the thick of local culture. I wish some residents could open their home as hosts though. Overall clean and well kept.

Sorry, maybe my answer is late, but it will be very regrettable if I don't share good information with tourists, especially international tourists who wants to visit this place. You can use public transportation, or Indonesians usually call it ANGKOT, and angkot has a code printed on the car body or parts of the windshield, rear and side, the angkot code that goes to this place is: ABG, AMG, AJG, MM if start from train station kota baru malang. Starting from the kota baru train station I suggest you ride the angkot with the code ABG, AMG, AJG, MM and angkot that will take you straight to in front of the gate of Kampung Tridi or the Colorful Village of Jodipan.
