Very good yoga sessions.
It is outside of Ubud. Whoever wants to have the busy situation in Ubud can go there in 15-20min (shuttle offered and organised several times a week) but this place is quiet and very nice.
Traditional life is well explained by the teachers. Good vegan food.

I came to Blooming lotus for two weeks of yoga course. Retreat is located on a very picturesque hill next to the river. I was really impressed by the comfortable clean villa, terrace and a pool.
But of course, people were the heart and soul of the place!
Amazing yoga trainers, very kind and caring staff, professional masseuses! I had a feeling that the whole place was designed specifically for me:)
I equally did a good bit of sweating at yoga sessions and at the same time mentally relaxed so much, that now in Christmas hassle I feel very calm, happy and energized.
Loved it!
Coming again in 2 months!

My time with Lily and Ramananda at Blooming Lotus changed my life. This is not a “Yoga Works” type teacher training to prepare you for employment at a gym. This is exposure to and guidance in a tradition whose roots remain beyond my capacity to comprehend and that feed my souls in ways I didn’t even realize I was missing… but also did. Good people, good teaching, good land, good practice. I did my YTT with Blooming Lotus in 2011 when they were in Thailand and returned (for free, because that’s the kind of heartwarmingly generous program this is) in 2015 as a Luminary student in Bali (return student who helps with some additional projects- I helped organize some of the Ramana Maharshi teachings they’ve collected and learned more about the charities they donate to). After graduating with them, I quit my 9-5 and I went on to live in a zen monastery for 3 years. Now I support caregivers and adults with disabilities and feel capable of giving because my practice keeps me grounded- the practice they introduced me to.

I did the 7 day retreat late October 2022. I very much enjoyed the twice daily meditation and yoga, it is definitely focused at the beginner to intermediate practitioner, however I found it wonderful after practicing for over 40 years. The yoga teachers were all very good, engaging and extended our practice. The yoga workshops were definitely aimed at the beginner.
The accomodation - I upgraded to a suite overlooking the river, I loved it overlooking and enjoying the energy of the water flowing. The bed was large and very comfortable, I loved the outside sitting area. The shower was wonderful and plenty of pressure. There was an outside bath which I used one evening and again loved it. I moved as I could hear everyone’s air conditioner unit motors all night long. Despite typical Ubud mild evenings ideal for sleeping we had no option but to use the AC’s as there were no mosquito nets or fly wired doors to use so we had to have our glass doors and any windows shut with the AC’s on or it got too hot bending closed. Quite opposed to the philosophy espoused on the website.
As a solo traveller it was wonderful to meet other people on the retreat.
The vegan food was ….. tedious to say the least. The chef really tried hard to ensure the food was tasty. Breakfast the first day - three pieces of brown bread with peanut butter and a fruit salad - the same fruit salad was excellent however served every morning ….. I really objected to being served. If they used a Buffet I would not have wasted the amount of food that was on my plate because I simply would not have chosen it and would would have been far happier choosing what I wanted to eat. Most meals I ate about 1/4 of what I served because I didn’t like what was served taste and texture wise plus I do not agree with the fake philosophy behind vegan food, and do not like the bloating excessive legumes and use of the abominable bean - soy unless it is fermented and a small amount with an abundance of fresh greens due to the phytates in soy. Luckily we had access to town via either the minibus or driver and great food options for a super healthy balanced lunch. Please don't bother trying the vegan sham me as most do.
The Day Spa was fabulous - I had two treatment sessions with them and recommend them
Tipping: every other yoga retreat I have been too the organisers or leaders have been very specific about what is expected - after all a great number of people work together to ensure we have a great time - many we never see. I asked the question at our opening introductions but was told - “it is up to you”. This made it difficult and this them became a regular topic of conversation. Surely it is better to politely say x number of people work here to make your stay amazing - we would appreciate $xxx in an envelope in small denominations to be equally distributed by x person after you have left.

I did the 4 day yoga retreat. It was amazing!
The staff at Ubud Corner 88 are so accommodating and professional. It was a beautiful location. The private villas are so nice, the pools are perfect, and there are plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. The food was also delicious, and far more fulfilling than I expected after reading some reviews. They never repeated a meal! I will say that if you are doing the shared villa as a solo traveler, make sure you are comfortable. The setup seems more designed for friends/family, as there are glass doors in the bathroom/shower. However, if you are comfortable in that situation, it is totally fine-- just setting expectations. The rooms are VERY nice.
As for the retreat itself, all 3 teachers are amazing and kind. It was a wonderful experience. We learned a lot of breathing techniques and about Bali/the culture/yoga. The religious ceremony at the end was unbelievable. Don't worry if you are a beginner-- the teachers are patient and kind, and you can take as many breaks as you need. They don't push you at all. The trips into Ubud are very nice, and you can also take a grab into the town for about $15 USD round trip on the days that the shuttle doesn't run. As a solo traveler, it was a great way to make friendships while abroad and our group stayed in touch via WhatsApp to connect throughout Bali afterwards! Can't recommend this experience enough!

I travelled alone and did the 7 day yoga retreat as a complete beginner a month ago. The room was amazing, the service was amazing, the food was really good although I am no vegan.
The yoga experience was warming, very spiritual, tranquil and inviting. The local instructors were extremely flexible in terms of catering for all stages of expertise, from beginner to advanced. The Shala was an open air setting with views of the lush jungle.
Before I went I wondered if I would be overwhelmed as a total beginner but soon relaxed as I was made to feel just as welcome and able to go at my own pace and level of flexibility. The location was amazing! Peaceful, lushious jungle views, lovely massages available in the spa near the river's edge. Bus into town 3 days a week to do more touristy things. Highly recommended.

We did the 7 days yoga retreat with Blooming Lotus Yoga on the 17 to 23 Jul 2022. Total participants about 14. Majority is female students.
The accommodation with twin bedroom is clean, the bed is comfortable and cosy, only disappointment is the weak water for shower and super tiny affixed shelf to placed personal toiletries by the shower area.
Free shuttle service to ubud centre during lunch time. Vegan breakfast, tea break and dinner is provided.
Definitely not suitable for advanced yoga practitioner. More suitable for basic to intermediate yoga practitioner.
The teachers is super friendly and comfortable to interact with. They will adjust your yoga posture, if needed be.
Some suggestions for improvements:
1. Avoid serving tasteless pop corn for tea break.
2. Provide clothes drying racks for outdoor use.
3. Install room service phone in every room.
4. Install blinds/curtains for the see thru bathroom door in between the toilet and changing room.

Blooming Lotus Yoga is a truly unique and wonderful place and I highly recommend it.
I first visited in 2007 for a week long yoga retreat, loved the teachers, the lessons, the mediation teachings and the style of yoga vs what I was practicing in London which was purely fitness and I have since dreamt of returning for a Yoga Teacher training.
I've completed the 1 month Teacher training and I can honestly say it's the best decision I've ever made in my entire life 🌞
I left a renewed person with deeper knowledge not just of yoga and a new perspective on life. Lily, Ramananda and Bindi are really the most beautiful teachers I've ever met and I will be forever grateful for their guidance.
Anyone who wishes to embark on a transformational journey should definitely book this.
The place itself is a peace of heaven on earth, very clean and serene, staff very friendly and food healthy and delicious (I disagree with previous review made about food)
I've travelled many places around the world but Blooming Lotus Yoga will forever remain my favourite.

I did my 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training and a 5-day silent retreat with Lily and the Blooming Lotus Team and it was LIFE CHANGING. The setting in Ubud, Bali is beautiful and the teachers and staff are incredible. Highly recommend a visit for a retreat or training. You won’t be disappointed!

Hi everyone! I am scheduled to attend the 7 day yoga retreat and was wondering if you found that you had time throughout the day to go site seeing or grab a bite to eat in case you wanted to venture off premise? Did you also find a way to travel off site easy? Thank you!

Hi, yes there is a little shuttle bus which the hotel operates daily to Ubud. Leaves at 12.00 and returns at 15.30. Takes around 20 mins. Lots and lots of lovely cafes in Ubud - they are really into veg/vegan/raw food. Plenty of spas too if you fancy a massage

My experience was good. I guess my roommate was nice. The room itself is a bit small but fits all our stuff. The shared areas were specious though. It actually looks better than photos.

Thanks so much for your interest in our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training courses.
The tuition for our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training is one of the most affordable in Bali and of the highest value. The tuition cost is $2500 USD, and the Accommodation/Food costs for all 26 days is $1716. Together the total cost is $4216 USD.
Whereas our accommodation and food costs are mandatory, we offer some of the highest quality accommodation one can find for a yoga teacher training, also.
Please note we accept only 26 out of about 100 applicants per training and that our programs usually fill up completely 1-2 months before the start date.
If after reading through the website pages on the different aspects of our program, you feel compelled from deep within to apply, we encourage you to do so.
Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

Hello,
I am looking at booking a 200hr yoga teacher training sometime next year but I am vegan. I was wondering if the food included in the teacher training package would accomodate a vegan diet.
Thank you in advance. :)

Thanks so much for inquiring into our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program.
You're in luck. In fact, our menu is almost already entirely vegan, except for some eggs in some of the deserts, which can easily be substituted for fruit instead.
The dates for next year's trainings will be announced and open for registry sometime in late August of this year.
Please check back with us at that time if you would like to apply and let us know if you have any further questions.
love and light,

Hi everyone! Thank-you for the helpful reviews. I am looking into doing the 200 her teacher training in Ubud next spring. Blooming Lotus looks amazing. Just wondering, did anyone hear while there of any other great places in or near Ubud for teacher training? I just wanted to check out a few more places and compare. I practice meditation a lot and am looking for something that has a strong meditation component too. Thank-you!,

Hi there,
This response may be too late but I just saw your question. Blooming Lotus Yoga had a very strong meditation component, more so than any other yoga programs I've heard about in my community. Hopefully you were able to find a program that was a fit for what you were looking for.
Best of luck!
