We had a phenomenal cooking experience and will recommend the team to any of our friends that will visit Bali. A couple of highlights (as we are aware there are numerous other positive reviews):
- They had a class just for the two of us (couple) which resulted in tons of phenomenal food and we can only hope there is a bit less in larger groups
- We booked a PM class and the market visit (for AM classes) was replaced by a coffee plantation tasting which we enjoyed as a good way to kick off the session
- Every minute of the class was super well prepared and the whole team knows exactly what they do; you can take away the fantastic recipes in copied form afterwards
- We got a great introduction to how Balieans live, worship, and go about everyday life
- In terms of the quality of food, we found the dinner to be among the best we had eaten in Bali (and we had a number of great experiences food wise)
10 out of 5.

Fantastic cooking experience. Our group was aged between 4 and 70yrs and everyone enjoyed the class. We learned about Balinese family life and saw how the rice was grown and stored. We also loved going to the market to see where all the ingredients were from. The family were so welcoming and made it fun for all of us. The food was absolutely delicious!

One of my favourite experiences in Bali. Mr Rakesh is a wonderful host - knowledgeable, friendly, kind, funny. And his family are the same. Beautiful people in a beautiful part of Bali. An amazing way to get in touch / spend time with locals and learn about their way of life. Can’t recommend enough!
Oh and the food is Devine! And you get recipes to take and show off to your friends and family.

Really wonderful day going to the market and then cooking. Wayan and Rakesh were incredibly friendly and helpful and I am already planning on cooking some of these recipes at home. I can't seem to get hold of Lesser Galangal anywhere in the UK so I'll just hope it tastes the same using the Galangal instead!
If you want a truly unique cooking experience, come along and see these guys and they will not disappoint you at all.
Thank you for a truly memorable experience :)

What an amazing day from start to finish!
I was collected from my hotel and we headed straight to the local market. All the local traditions and foods were explained to me.
Next stop - coffee plantation with a Bali swing! I had a full tour and coffee and tea tasting experience 👌
From there I was welcomed to the coking class in their home! It was very special and an honour.
Their house was explained to me and I was made to feel very welcome!
Then the hard work! We made many traditional dishes from start to finish, all the ingredients and processes explained, plus a few tips if I wanted to make the recipes again at home!
Everything was delicious!
I honestly could not recommend this more it was a truly wonderful experience 🙏🇮🇩

Amazing! Cannot recommend it enough. Wayan and Rakesh let us into their home and culture with such open arms and big smiles. I felt so lucky to get a real insight into Balinese people and how they live.

Wow- one of our favourite memories from our trip was this class. You leave feeling like family. They take you to a authentic market (not a tourist one) and show you their personal rice fields before going to their home to cook a delicious meal. You learn so much more than cooking- culture, lifestyle and their beliefs.
Even though it is in their home, it is set up nicely for a group cooking class, you just get the added benefit of learning about their lifestyle too. I would highly recommend.

If you have the time to take this cooking class, I highly recommend it. My husband and I were the only two in the class so it had more of a private class feel. We first started off going to the market where all the fruits and vegetables were explained to us. We were able to sample some of the fruits and the lady bought us delicious sweets to try. On the way back to the house we stopped at her family's rice terrace and it was interesting to see how the terraces are separated by family. Once back at the house we cooked 8 delicious dishes. They even had to go containers for the leftovers because we made so much food. A bonus is that they printed out the recipes so you can make the dishes at home.

We booked a cooking class following a friend’s recommendation and we were not disappointed!
We were catered for (being vegetarian) and thoroughly enjoyed learning about traditional Balinese cooking and life.
Would suggest booking a morning class as that included a trip to a local food market.
