Hire Bali Driver is a local business which has been based in Bali since 2013. It was established by I Wayan Suardika, or Wayan, who was born and raised in Ubud. Wayan an enthusiastic and energetic young man, graduated from the university in Bali with a degree in English literature. This background, along with more than 8 years in the tourist industry, has given him the foundation, competence and knowledge required to set up this company. My daughter put me in touch with Hire Driver Bali in advance of my 3 night stopover in Bali and I’m so grateful for her recommendation. Excellent communication prior to us arriving in Bali and everything was finalised quickly and efficiently. Our private tour was everything we’d hoped for and included a visit to The Monkey Sanctuary, a 2 hour Rafting Tour on the Ayung River, a visit to the spectacular Tegalalang Rice Terrace and finished off with a visit and swim at The Tibumana Waterfall. It was a long day (around 10 hours) with an 8am pick up from our Nusa Dua hotel but we were able to see some of the island’s top attractions and appreciate some great sights in the car between locations.
Special thanks to our excellent driver guide, Komang Wintata, who was professional, knowledgable, patient and curteous and we thoroughly enjoyed his company both in the car and accompanying us around the sights. He is also an excellent photographer and very kindly offered to take some photos for us which was a bonus!
If you’re looking for a reliable Bali excursion firm then I would recommend HDB without hesitation for their service and great value also. And if you’re looking for the perfect guide, who is not only a safe driver and excellent guide but also a quality standard photographer, then I would suggest requesting Komang Wintata at point of booking.

If you are planning on visiting Ubud soon, you have to book Ubud local, Rush!
Rush was the most incredible tour guides we have ever had. This man had it all! He is sweet and charming and is an Ubud local who has many many friends at every location we visited and makes sure you always get the best price for anything you want to buy from the market place.
Rush drove us around in his large SUV that had great AC to cool you down after the wet season heat! He was an expert driver who was able to navigate through the stacked Ubud streets to the smaller mountain roads with nothing more than a slight bump here or there.
Rush was an excellent tour guide and was very knowledgeable on all things Bali. He navigated us through the Monkey Sanctuary better than we could have hoped for and was very experienced with keeping them playful and friendly. We then went to visit the Ubud temples where he advised this is where he and his family come to pray. Rush is a dedicated desiple where he showed us around and explained the history and each aspect of the three temples. We then went to a plantation where we enjoyed over 15 different types of coffee and tea for free (we believe this must have been due to Rush’s great friends and connections he’s made in his profession). We learnt a lot, met another fantastic host and bought as much of it as we could take home. He then took us out to lunch by Tegenungan Waterfall where we enjoyed a delicious three course meal above a petit market surrounded by the pouring sounds of the waterfall. We visited a few more places such as a wood carving studio and the rice fields where my partner and I took a stunning couples swing over the valley.
We had the most incredible day with a man dedicated to his trade. I would be shocked to find a man who is more in love and protective of this city and its culture. More so he did everything we asked with a smile on his face. This is truly a man who is dedicated to his religion and profession and if you’ve read this far stop now and book the best tour of your life with Rush.

I look for a few simple things with a driving service. Competitive prices and good communication are important during the scheduling process. Once service begins, it is important that the driver be punctual. It is important that the driver be safe. It is important that the driver know the roads/routes of interest. It is important that the driver be on my schedule rather than me being on his or hers. It is important that the car be modern and comfortable. It is important that the driver be personable. Hire Bali Driver meets all of these requirements. Understand that the driver is not an official tour guide. However, if you just want a reliable driving service, this is a good company.

My wife and I visited Bali in January for our honeymoon and booked a full day private tour and a hike up Mt Batur with Hire Bali Driver. Soooo glad we did! Yandek picked us up, was always laughing and very friendly. He had waters waiting for us after activities and had lots of information about Bali’s history. We will for sure be asking for Yandek when we come back and book tours with HBD. Thanks for making our activities so entertaining and informative!

Looking for a driver or tour guide in Bali? Look no further. The ratings and reviews speak for themselves—Hire Bali Driver is simply the best. And affordable!
With a specific itinerary in mind, I arranged a customized two-day program with Hire Bali Driver for myself and two others. Merta, our tour guide and driver for both days, was just great. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Those are the first words that come to mind. Merta was always on time and made sure we were comfortable throughout the long drives over the two days we had with him. He listened and kept us informed. All in all, he made sure we were happy and had the best experience. I strongly recommend using Hire Bali Driver and requesting Merta if you need a driver or tour guide for the area.

Waydek was an absolute pleasure with us during our stay in Bali. He drove us to lots of destinations with no fuss and was very chatty, kind and knowledgable. He always took his time and was just as interested to get to know where we are from as we were with him.
He was punctual, responsive on WhatsApp and ,confirmed our trip the night before. His car was always air conditioned and he made sure that we had the best experience we could while we were there.
He took lots of lovely pictures for us with no fuss and took his time.
We had to cut our trip short because we were leaving that evening and he ended up taking us up the mountain to view the volcano instead of one of the waterfalls so we didn’t miss out on anything.
It never felt like he was pushing us to tip or rush us during our stay. Just a genuinely nice guy :)
Highly recommend him!

Today my husband and I toured the Jungle swing, monkey sanctuary, rice terrace, Holly springs Water at Tirta Empul Temple, coffee plantation. Ma-de did such a great job giving us the tour, explaining all the important features of the places, being so patient and kind throughout the entire trip. His knowledge of all of the sites we visited as well as the streets and areas we traveled through was impressive. He was so helpful with taking so many pictures for us and was more than happy to make our tour great in every way. We are so thankful he was our driver and would recommended him to anyone! If we are ever back in Bali we would want him to give us a tour again! I highly recommend him to everyone that wants to book a tour you will not regret it!

If you’re coming to Bali, you need to use this company as your ride around the island. More specifically, you need to request that Udi be your driver. Udi was awesome!! He’s more than just a driver, he is your personal guide who will accompany you at the destinations you choose and teach you about the land, culture and religion. We honestly were only expecting someone to drive us around and we were pleasantly surprised that he was also a guide and personal photographer. What’s great about this company is that everything is 100% customizable and you go at your own pace. You’re not rushed from location to location. We had Udi drive us for 4 days!! We were going to do 3 days originally, but we liked working with Udi so much that we cancelled a structured tour with another company and hired Udi for a 4th day. We did a lot of activities and we got a good mix of relaxing, entertainment and adventuring. If anyone wants ideas on how to plan your day, feel free to send me a private message. What’s great is that this company will help you plan your trip and give you feedback on how to structure your day. But honestly, you need to request for Udi! He’s so patient, chill, respectful, kindhearted and he radiates positive vibes. He is genuinely happy to teach you about the Balinese way of life. He gave us space when we wanted to relax and he gave us guidance and suggestions when we were visiting new locations. He even helped me carry my backpack when doing a strenuous hike at a waterfall and he patiently waited whenever we needed to stop for a minimart or bathroom. He even surprised us one day and got us freshly cooked corn and snacks. This is 10/10 experience! Yes there are cheaper options out there for local drivers but you will not get the same care and attention as you would with this company. The price is worth it for sure! Pickup and general communication were fantastic. The driver Dudy found our villa, even though it was difficult to find, and greeted us with cold water and an air conditioned car. He was punctual, very polite and professional.
Throughout the day Dudy was amazing. The great thing about him is that I could generally say he was more a guide rather just a driver compared to other tours. He always ensured we knew where we’re heading, taught us about the local culture, traditions, life in Bali and even spoiled us with some super interesting stories. Besides that he is just a super nice guy, very professional, calm and would go out of his way to ensure you have a great time and are well cared for.
The temples themselves were all unique and a great insight into Balinese history and tradition. My favourites were the Beratan temple on the lake, the Luhur Batukaru temple and an amazing lunch at the UNESCO world heritage Jatiluwih Rice Terraces.
All in all this was my most favourite time here in Bali.
I would whole heartedly recommend Dudy and his tour company if you wish to enjoy one or even a few day tours out here in wonderful Bali.

It was a great day and the view from the top of Mt Batur is exceptional. Both our guide and our driver Yande Arta were very helpful and cheerful throughout, especially given the early start. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the mountain and it’s history and we enjoyed the walk with him. Our driver was waiting for us as soon as we returned from Mt Batur and we enjoyed the opportunity to visit the hot springs after - great for our tired legs! He was very helpful and enthusiastic and the whole morning went very smoothly. Overall a great experience. We’d recommend bringing an extra layer for sitting at the top waiting for the sun to come up - it can feel chilly once you’ve stopped moving.

Hi there, we are interested in a private driver for Ubud next week. We are wondering if we can customise the day as we have specific destinations we would like to visit? Would the driver be able to drop us off and pick us up from these places or must we do a set itinerary tour you provide?
