My husband and I each signed up for hour-long traditional Balinese massages. We were shown to one of the beautiful treatment rooms behind the pool at Alam Shanti, where we could use the private restroom and shower to prepare. We had side-by-side tables and each had our own practitioner. Both of us felt that the quality of the facility and the massages were very high and excellent value. (Staying at sister property, Alam Jiwa, provided a discount on the already-reasonable prices.) We departed very relaxed and refreshed, all of our muscles brought back to life by skilled hands. Had we been staying longer in the area, we would have returned for more. Highly recommended!

My friend and I visited the Alam Wangi Spa constantly during several stays in Ubud from 2013 until now. We always choose the double massage rooms poolside which are absolutely beautiful. The rooms near the reception are dark although nicely decorated.
We had Balinese Aromatherapy massage 60min. plus a flower bath which was very funny. It cost 28 Dollars each plus tax and service charge. This is of course a lot more than one would pay in a roadside massage parlour but we love Alam Wangi for it is very clean, pleasant and the female therapists are experienced and skillful and do understand enough English to respond to questions or to ask you about the intensity of the pressure.
The Spa is situated at Alam Shanti Hotel in Nyukuning behind the Monkey Forest. They offer a free pick up service from Café Wayan in Monkey Forest Road and take you back to your hotel or downtown as well.

I had a massage almost every day here even there was some cheap massage around here. They has experienced professional therapists. I was satisfied every massage. The walkway to the massage cottage, waiting area by the pool, massage room, off course the massage and tea after the massage. The total of them is worth more than the price.

From the street (we stayed across the street at Ubud Wana), the front of the spa looked questionable but once we decided to get treatments, it all changed. We were taken on a short walk back, into a beautiful oasis. The spa treatment rooms were nice, the staff were great, and I thoroughly enjoyed both my massage and facial. Post treatments, I sat in the garden & had a cup of tea which was a perfect way to end.

I'm a little ashamed I haven't written a review of this place before – I did one for Alam Shanti, but forgot about the spa. This place is utterly heavenly. I'd honestly encourage people to put a traditional massage here on their bucket list. It's an incredibly aesthetic and tranquil (or should I say tranquillising) experience.

Make sure when you book a massage you ask for one out by the pool. They have these marble chalets there, and the experience is much more profound than having one near the reception. I had one yesterday, and I'll go back for one tomorrow. Really Ubud at its best.

Have visited twice and enjoyed both times. The Cream Hair Bath was relaxing and left my hair soft and shiny. My therapist was Ayu and she was lovely and very experienced. The Cream Hair bath includes a head, shoulder and arm massage - Ayu has great hands.

I also had the aftersun treatment with Aloe Vera and cucumber - be prepared as it is cold!

Enjoyable both times.

we've been to this spa with my husband and we've had Balinese Massage, the room are nice do not expect a luxury spa it is not, the massage was a fair to good level but the technique was not the best I've had, they did not remove the tension I've had on my back, this place is not cheap and for 25$ the quality of massage is not worth it, they need to trained their staff more to compete with hotel spas.
Overall we've had a great time.

We visited the Alam Wangi Spa for the 4 time recently. We usually stay at the Alam Shanti resort right beside the spa but this time we were down in Ubud d itself and had transport come to collect us. Even though the transport ran late, the girls were very understanding and we're still able to to a 90 minute massage for both of us. We booked the room overlooking the rice fields just beside the pool. It was so relaxing and our massages were fantastic. Lovely spa, lovely girls, very professional. Very well priced. We will be back.

Back in 2008, Alam Wangi was a small spa which had 2 or 3 single person treatment room. In 2011 when I returned they have a dedicated spa house. The place was next to Alam Shanti B&B. The treatment and dedication of giving a relaxing and beautiful moment didn't change even now.

My husband, mother in law and I had a aromatherapy treatment. Absolutely relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable.

After 90 mins of treatment (which went very quickly) we had a ginger tea & fruit & little cake from cafe wayan which is the restaurant owned by same owner in Ubud.

If you want real relaxing time and high standard spa treatment, this is a place to go. Highly recommended!

Our whole family of five (with three kids aged 9, 7 and 4) enjoyed two days of massage at Alam Wangi. We tried other places in Ubud but this was certainly the place to go. IT felt as if we were the only ones there.

Most importantly, the place was very, very clean, and the treats they gave us after the treatments were simply delicious. The rates were slightly more expensive than other roadside places in town, but more than worth it.

Will surely go back!
