About
Air Terjun Tegenungan is a beautiful natural waterfall located just a half-hour drive from Ubud. The lush greenery and picturesque falls are a great photo op to commemorate your trip to Bali. When the conditions are good, you can take a dip in the inviting pool at the base. For a bird's eye view of the falls, be sure to check out the viewpoint near the entrance. Also, note that there's a small fee to enter the waterfall. To make the most of your trip, take a guided tour to explore other waterfalls in Bali. And if you need a break, there are tourist shops and a day club nearby. – Tripadvisor

Tegenungan Waterfall is a breathtaking natural gem, perfect for a refreshing escape. The cascading water, surrounded by lush greenery, creates a picture-perfect scene that’s both energizing and soothing. The well-maintained paths make it accessible, though the stairs can be a bit challenging for some. It’s a great spot to take in the beauty of Bali and cool off in the clear waters. It was quite hot so always stay hydrated. Since it's a popular destination, it does get busy for photos at the picturesque spots. It is advisable to carry a selfie stick to avoid long waits and plan extra time for the breathtaking taking pictures. An umbrella and sunblock is a must. Whether you’re looking to relax or snap stunning photos, Tegenungan Waterfall offers an unforgettable experience. This is a destination I’d highly recommend for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Cooling waterfall, good view, but its a workout getting there!
Small entrance fee to pay, will pass by many tourist shops & restaurants, wouldn't recommend of them for your meals, can go explore elsewhere.
There are many steps leading down to the waterfall, so get ready to do some cardio! At the waterfall, there's only a small water area you can dip in, so I didn't find it worthit to get wet there.

After each of us paid 30,000 Rupiah to view the waterfall, we felt cheated. It was not a high falling, thundering, multi-tiered waterfall. It was just another waterfall and not very big.
We have seen better, being from Hawaii. Not even worth our time and effort to get a closer look. We were there for about 15 minutes.

It’s worth a visit because the waterfall is impressive, but if you want to not see a waterfall without being a major tourist attraction avoid this one.
The markets are fair enough on the way in, but there is a large club half way down pumping out music, gelato shop at the bottom and high swing on the other side.
There is also a glass bottomed bridge running across the gouge.

A visit to Ubud is not complete without dropping by to visit this waterfall. It appears pretty well on every day tour itinerary. Surrounded by clusters of souvenir stalls and eateries, there are great photo opportunities from the top looking into the river chasm. If you plan to tackle the steps going down to the base of the waterfall, keep in mind the climb back up is testing. The steps are uneven and varying in height providing the physical test. Well worth the effort though. You can also swim at the base of the waterfall. Surrounded by lush vegetation it is well worth spending some time here and enjoying a cold Bintang and lots of yummy food from the various eateries.

Stunning waterfall cascades over a cliff edge and runs off along the valley. It’s become a major tourist attraction, so there are loads of shops and warungs on the way down to the falls. For reasons beyond my comprehension the authorities have allowed a spa/restaurant to be built right next to the falls, attracting even more tourists. There are also far too many of the Instagram generation, who rather than photographing the beauty have to photograph their silly selves getting in the way of the falls.
There are 200 steep steps down and the same number back, which makes for a hot and challenging visit if you are not fit, so be prepared. There are pools by the falls if you fancy a paddle, so bring your trunks. Lifeguard. You can also climb to the top of the falls if you want some more exertion. Entrance fee about $2 pp. Toilets and car park.

The visit to the waterfall was part of a small tour around Ubud and the surrounding area. The waterfall is relatively close to Ubud. It is therefore relatively well attended and was therefore our first stop of the day tour. As a result, the number of people was still manageable. Negative is then that you have the waterfall right at the bottom in the sun. The waterfall is so beautiful to look at and you could also bathe in it. The descent or ascent is certainly not without, but good to do for people with some basic fitness. We've enjoyed it so far.

It’s an enjoyable day out, you pay for entry to the waterfall area and there’s a variety of shops, food spots, and some waterfall bars. It’s a lovely waterfall and you can walk down close to it, there’s many spots for photos and the space is beautiful. Only downside is that it’s very busy and a lot of the spots are only accessible via bars that require you buy drinks etc, it all felt quite money based. But in general you get to see the waterfall for a low cost and it’s worth a visit.

We visited the waterfall as part of our day out with a car and driver from Hire Bali. It was the first planned stop of our day as we were told it gets very busy. Bit of a climb from the car park down to the falls but a number of stopping places for rests and pictures including an archway with the fall details. At the bottom near the holy pool is a small free changing room which we used and then a short walk over dome very unstable bamboo 'bridges' to get to falls and pool. Before the bridges is another small changing area although lots of folks were changing in amongst the rocks at the pool edge. The falls are superb and although it is recommended not io go beyond the barrier you can still fell the power over the water. The ground at the edge of the pool at the foot of the falls is really rocky so pool shoes are recommended however once in the base is light shale and easy to walk across. It was quiet when we arrived but soon got exceptionally busy. Well worth a visit and well worth going into the water but go early to avoid heavy crowds.

This waterfall has become very touristy over the years.
Still worth a visit as it’s got all the amenities you need to spend a good few hours here.
Very busy, but plenty of room for your own space.
They do charge 30,000 IDR per person, whether you use the 200 plus steps to the bottom or not.
Best to visit after heavy rains to watch the falls with maximum power.
Bali’s glass bridge is located close by, & it’ll cost you 250,000 IDR to walk on it. Ouch!

can i go to tegenungan rice pads, tegenungan waterfall alone in one day? or i need to book tour?
Written 18 August 2019
You can hire a driver for a day and tell him where you want to go and only do that, or organise a 'package' with him (they all have their own) and he will plan it all out for you including lunch etc This might be a better option if you don't know much about the area.
The Waterfall and Rice Paddies are pretty quick and easy to visit (that's only about 2 hours at most IF you walk to the bottom of the waterfall, less if you don't) so you can grab a bike or local cab and do them yourself. I'd suggest maybe a few more things if you aren't staying in Ubud and are making a day trip because its a long way to come for just those two :)

Bonjour. Il y a t'il beaucoup de marches et de distance à parcourir pour voir les cascades depuis le haut et aller au restaurant ? Nous ne souhaitons pas descendre en bas. C'est pour des personnes de 85 ans qui marchent difficilement. Merci
