The approach is easy, but not entirely safe on a scooter.
There is enough parking space. Entry costs 50k/person, around 3€.
There are four entrances, but only one is open. The entrance is on Raya Puputan Street.
The garden and the building are impressive. Using 3D models, the war history of Indonesia and Bali is shown in pictures. There is an information board for each picture. The story is translated into English. There is a QR code with an explanation for each sculpture. Unfortunately, these are not in English.
It is worth going all the way to the top. The viewing platform is really great because the view is wonderful. We didn't see an elevator, so you have to be a good walker. The toilets were clean. No squat toilets.

A very imposing structure, plated with volcanic stone so it emits a dark 'gothic' energy which I found (appropriately) unsettling. Very moving experience. I found that knowing a little of the Puputan struggles before I came here helped me to resonate more with the stories of the dioramas. A story that should be told to all people visiting the island. Also some beautifully manicures gardens to wander around and reflect in afterwards as it is quite an intense experience.

What a disappointment it was this museum!
It is nice from outside but foreigners don’t waste your 100000 IDR on this!
Very poor quality material inside.
Library/photo room didn’t even have fan or an A/C on in this heat!!!
View from the top was ok, but overall from inside…1/10 from me.
What a waste of time and money!!!

I came here just to see something while I was nearby. I was pretty bored but it's half interesting history you can walk around looking at. Can take some nice photos form outside and up the top. 50000 entry.

Walking, sitting and picnicking are all activities highly suitable to this wonderful venue. Additionally, one could engage in jogging during the early morning hours or just before sunset. I personally found the location to be quite alluring, and I enjoyed it immensely.

The Bajra Sandhi monument was built to remember its history.
The struggle against Dutch colonialism in Bali. Many Balinese died in the unequal struggle in the various wars.
On the 2nd floor many large images of the struggle of the Balinese people.
The building with 3 floors and at the top a nice overview of the park and Denpasar.

This is the place to visit for a glimpse of the history of Bali. There were many artifacts in Bajra Sandhi that lends visitors to visualize Bali over various times in history. I visited Bajra Sandhi in Oct 2012 with a friend. We were there with a tour-guide.
I read from a tour book that the shape of the Bajra Sandhi Monument looks like a "Bajra", which is a Hindu priest's bell. It was built in the year 1987 and is opened by president Megawati Sukarno Putri on 14 Jun 2003. "This is a monument that immortalizes the soul and spirit of the Balinese people's struggle at looking after, developing and also preserving the culture of Bali."
The monument was impressive and massive in its scale. It was relaxing to be simply there. I was attracted to the interesting geometric patterns that were found on the structures. The fishes in the ponds at this place offered reminders for visitors to slow ourselves down to appreciate how the fishes swam along with the flow of the water.
My friend and I had the chance to climb to the top of the tower. Women who are having their menstruation will not be allowed to climb up the tower.
While this is not the place to visit for people who prefers to spend their time to shop and to buy local products, I will recommend that visitors make time to visit this monument when they are in Bali if they are open to catch a glimpse of the history of Bali and spend some peaceful moments in contemplation. Bajra Sandhi is magnificent, beautiful and serene.

The exterior of the architecture is quite grand, and good pictures can be taken on the outside of the monument without buying tickets. But I bought a ticket and can see the effort they put into designing and sculpting the small miniatures.
Entrance ticket = IDR 50,000/person

This was a peaceful monument, in the middle of a town crowded with tourists. A place not frequented by many but if you are in Bali and have any inclination towards History or would love to see the great architecture you must visit here. It’s a ckean well kept monument in a clean and green compound. If you visit then do climb the spiral staircase to the top level and take a birds eye view of this lovely island. Also visit the museum to know more about Bali and Indonesian history, their evolution and struggle for freedom. Sadly there was no information written any where about the monument itself neither was there any official who could help us with the info on how old the place is or who made this monument etc.
