They have collected a lot of ancient scriptures, ornaments, currencies and much more. The owner herself with her husband have created hand made paintings which are marvellous. This place should be in your mussoorie itenary. Couldn’t take a lot of photos because its not allowed but its worth it.Thank you so much. - Trip629438437881 contributionTake out a few hours to explore the place when in Mussurie. There is something so warm and genuine about the way KavitaA short walk up the hill and I was greeted by Kavita Aunty with a generous smile that instantly made me feel welcomed. Guiding me through the entire place she explained every part of it, beginning from painting on the planks depicting everyday life, masks used during festivals, a dedicated room for her paintings and patterns each depicting it’s story so beautifully, from architectural style, traditional cookware, currency, old manuscripts to jewellery and sculptures. I especially loved the little shiva temple at the middle of the museum. Each part has been put together so well, taking you to one form of art to another that I was curious to know more and more about it. Overall a beautiful display of their years of study and collection depicting the lives and culture of people of Himalayas.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 9 September 2024

First thing first, please don't go by the name 'Heritage & Art Centre'. This place is more than just being an Art centre. You don't need to be an art fanatic to enjoy this place. SOHAM will surprise you in more ways than one. Every corner of that place is a story told well, mixed with a lot of passion, history and undaunted spirit of Hills - Uttrakhand! I visited this place with my wife and we both truly loved the time spent here. The hosts are absolutely hospitable and will make you feel like home. The love and sweat which has gone behind making this place will be evident when they will take you through the place and explain every bit of it. It is a must-visit when visiting Mussoorie.

This is one of the best museums I have ever visited, and it was a highlight not just of our trip to Musoorie, but to all of India. The couple who runs the place and produces the art are very friendly, knowledgeable and inspiring people. There are many different rooms and exhibitions, so there is something for everyone. Beautiful colors, beautiful views, a labor of passion and talent. We would love to have spent more time. Definitely don't miss this place!

The dedication and hard work that the couple has put to make this place so beautiful is unbelievable. After you are done with the museum tour do visit their sovereign store which has the most unique gifts that you can take along for your friends and family.

I got lucky and was able to travel back to musoorie after a difficult 2020 for us all. And i am so glad that i could visit the museum again. This time around i would especially like to show my gratitude to Ms. Yoshita for showing us around. Got to experience 1 new exhibition on the textile of the hills and this time i was able to get some beautiful souvenirs. And it seems that i cant get enough of this place. Everytime there seems i go there i feel the same enthusiasm and excitement that i did when i used to visit here as a kid. And the food and hospitality of Ms. Yoshita and Mr. And Mrs. Shukla is out of the world.
Thank you for sharing with us this monument that you have built and converting someone's trash into treasure, for all of us to appreciate the lives of people living in the Himalayas.

I've been to Mussoorie many times and so far this place had to be my favourite in Mussoorie. The hosts are extremely sweet and welcoming. This place offers a view into the rich culture and heritage of Uttarakhand. The most beautiful thing about this place is, all the beautiful paintings and sculptures are made by the hosts themselves. The little cafe situated inside the museum, gives a beautiful view of Dehradun city. Every bit of this museum is done and decorated by the hosts. One should definitely visit this place, the rich flora and fauna all adds to the beauty of the museum. It was a great experience at this wonderful place. Looking forward to visit the museum once again.

It was my 2nd visit to SOHAM Himalayan Centre and it is never enough. It feels like life, evolving every time. A well maintained space by Mr. Sameer Shukla and Mrs. Kavita Shukla, it includes clearly everything that one need to know about the himalayan culture. The unlimited knowledge preserved and presented so neatly and artisticaly that one gets attracted to experience it all at once.
