A Nice place for View Only
A bit expensive trip in my view, the charges are Rs 180 per head (for every one above 3 Yrs). Takes about 3-4 minutes to ascend and descend from Gun Hill. The View is nice, you have restaurant , some games shops up there. Should visit in case its your first trip to Mussorrie.

    Nice views from the top
Gunhill Point is reached by a single trolley cable car, which makes the wait a bit longer in queues. The views from the top are breath-taking. There are plenty stall games for children, and a few cafes serving nice and hot tea, along with snacks.

    Too many shops than view
Great views no doubt but nothing extraordinary which anyone would not find elsewhere in Mussoorie. The place is full of shops who are just trying to woo you to buy something. Such over pressurising would render the visitors to leave the place as soon as possible then to buy the stuff from there.

Not much to see, honestly. Like some of the other reviews state, this is a trap, not much of a view as you'd expect.

A trolley takes you to the top of the hill which is flat with lots of shops half a km up from Mall Road offers a good trek for those who can

The place is a tourist attraction people get photos taken in traditional dress eat play games

But my purpose of visit was the view it offers of the snow clad peaks on a clear day and the sunset being the highest point the view is breathtaking evening time or early morning is best for nature lovers unfortunately I was there in afternoon so missed seeing the snow or sunset from there but as I was staying in club mahindra just 200 m away I was lucky to see sunset in the evening and snow peaks in the morning from the resort

It's a trap! The moment you land on gun hill, you are surrounded by commercial establishments and sellers and merchants who keep soliciting you at every step of the way. And there is no open view left except from a temple.

One of the most famous spots of Mussoorie, Gun Hill is nothing more than a commercial waste now. The stairs to the old canon are in ruins. Various small shops exist only to rob you of your money. Views are average. Ropeway is costly. Spending your time exploring the Mall Road would be a better option.

Gun hill is one of the must visit location in Mussorie. Must visit, because of the view it provides. Besides there are few activities for kids and couple of eating joints. Take the trolly up and walk back down.

The place is just average with old swings, some obsolete restaurants and uninteresting gift shops. Looks like a worn out place now. Not at all recommended for visitors. The charm of Gun Hill is long lost now.

This spot is really more hype than matter. The views are pretty ordinary and nothing special and can be had from any spot in the town itself. Anyway all these views are taken up by a variety of shops whose employees will hound you all the time you are there. The short ropeway ride costs Rs180 per head and is not worth it. The little distance from the mall to the ropeway will itself set you back by a couple of hundred rupees if taking a rickshaw. Overall, skip this place.

Situated right in the middle of Mall Road, the main draw is the short 2 min ropeway ride (Rs. 180 per person, for 2-way). A large flat area at the top has several small eateries and shops for games-of-skill. Views are of the town and the mountain ranges at the back. If you stayed in a good hotel/resort, or if you went to Lal Tibba, you'll get similar or far better views. So barring the ropeway experience, there isn't much to say about Gun Hill. Do not expect a gun or a fort at the top - there's neither.
