With our upbringing we cannot think of doing parikrama of the Lord by foot. But it was such a delightful and humble sight to see so many great souls doing parikrama.. some by foot and some by paying prostrated obeisances to the Lord. It is definitely recommended to circumambulate Govardhan Hill for anyone who visits Vrindavana.

This is unique place where I found inner peace and tranquility. There is a lot of history behind Govardhan parvat and makes one feel close to Shri Krishna. The parikrama starts from Mukharvind in Jatipura and is done with bare feet. You would find the the devotees doing parikrama through out the whole year.

The Govardhan parikrama is for 21 kms, which you can cover by foot, car or auto. We do this by car. The parikrama starts from the Daanghati temple and completes at Mansi Ganga. However there is no mountain now, you will not find a hill here.

Govardhana is a 8km long hill located near the town of Vrindavana, in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is considered sacred especially in the Vaishnava traditions within Hinduism.

The parikrama is for 21 kms, which you can cover by foot, car or auto. It should actually be done on foot but many people because of age or sickness cant complete on foot so they do by car or auto. I went with my parents hence I also did by auto only. The Govardhan hill is considered to be... More

We did Goverdhan parikrama. It takes 6 hrs to do the same. Goverdhan is non different from Lord Krishna hence it is not recommended to climb the hill or touch with our feet.

I did the Parikrama of Govardhan hill during this Kartik month, the month of Kartik is considered as very pious, during this time many festivals do take place in Vrindavan. However, it was not so easy for me, the total Parikrama Marg is of 23km long and one needs to complete it by walking bare feet. I had no problem... More
