Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage place in Almora, Uttarakhand, Nagesham Jyotirlinga dedicated to Shiva, one of the twelve mahajyotirling. Beautiful temple dating back to 9th century. Huge trees with 15-20 feet of trunk and hight of about 70 feet surrounded temple. We were very happy to visit the place

Abode of Lord Shiva, Jageshwar Temple is considered one of the Jyotilingas. It is surrounded by Deodar trees and considered very auspicious to visit it during Monday of the Shrawan month (from July 15 to August 15).

Sprituality is a frame of mind. Temple complex with all the temples and scupltors was beautiful. The pundits were very good. Giving it three stars as it is not a "must go to" place, as distances and time taken to get there may not be worth the effort.

It is a very ancient temple dedicated to lord Shiva. Location is also very good. Peaceful place in deep forest. Avoid festivals since it gets over crowded.

The temple is very pretty architecturally and is set in the midst of tall oak and cedar tree s....there is also a small stream nearby....owning to the trees, the temple precincts are unusually dark and cold which obviously adds to the whole experience and effect of the place....the worst part though are the Pandits (Temple priests) who try to fool...
