Roobaroo was a life saver for us. We were a group of 7 (3 kids and 4 adults) - they were able to custom multiple walks over a period of 3 days combining their North walk, food walk, evening aarithi on boat ride, morning boat ride and south walk. Saurabh's food views and stories were excellent! Anupam had an excellent morning boat ride for us on Ganges. We were able to cover everything we wanted to do with them. The pricing can look at bit expensive but overall we did find it excellent!

We had travelled to Varanasi in September beginning on a short visit. Not satisfied with the usual temple trail, we wanted to try out something different and called up Anupam. I must say, this was probably the best decision I had taken in a long time. We stayed in Benares for three days and did all three walks : South walk combined with food and boat tour , next day North walk combined with boat tour. I can't emphasize how great an experience we had with Anupam and Saurabh. Anupam took us through the narrow lanes and introduced us to the local way of living. Be it the idyllic pan shop, the saree shopping, an amazing "thandai" shop, local cuisine or a hidden-old world- temple. Each destination seemed like an adventure in itself and experiences I would carry with myself for a long time. Saurabh is a local celebrity, and we went to Tulsi's Ashram, an Akhara and had sumptuous breakfast. We also had long conversations with both of them on culture, religion, society and ended up buying books recommended. They often say that you carry and leave a piece of your heart to the places you travel. With Robaroo walks I was able to experience Benares in its truly authentic and raw form . Listening to stories from past and present while at the same time, experiencing the inner city with all the sensory experiences available was a joy and delight. I would highly highly recommend investing in these experiences. I am planning to do city hopping to try out Roobaroo walks in other cities too. :)

Why do we even need a walking tour? Its easy to just walk and explore city on our own thanks to google. But we then often just see the regular places, click pics and be done. A walking tour, thanks to this team of super story tellers, brought the whole city alive. It helped us absorb the city and observe the contrast- from the busy lanes to a quiet corner in just few steps. Plus we got a chance to visit some beautiful hidden gems that we wouldn’t have managed on our own. The team is very helpful & patient. What stood out clearly was the quick response and meticulous planning. Saurabh was our guide on the north walk, south walk and evening boat ride. It was an amazing experience – interactive and with some history and mythology; And loads of interesting stories that keep you hooked. Thank you for making this trip a memorable one. I for one, will be definitely be taking the food tour next time I am in Varanasi!

Rubaroo was an accidental find, but turned out to be an excellent experience. Aayush and Anupam have been extremely helpful and also their passion for Kaashi was coming through clearly. Even though I picked the sunrise boat tour and south walk, I did only the boat tour due to my spouse's indisposition. Sourabh, who is our guide was an excellent story teller and communicator. We had a very fulfilling boat tour with lot of history, mythology and anecdotes thrown in. I would recommend Rubaroo to anyone seriously interested in the history of Kashi and an experiential tours and storytelling.

It was the best experience ever to some good hidden treasures of north varanasi. Saurabh conducted the walking tour very nicely. He was an amazing storyteller who knew history and insights of a place. The treasures tucked in the small lanes of Varanasi couldn't have been experienced in a better manner than the way saurabh helped us. I highly recommend Roobaroo Walks
