It was a feeling which was out of this world, watching the expert priests performing Ganga arti was like watching a perfectly choreographed play which had a direct connection to God. If you visit Banaras and don't see Ganga Arti then your visit is a waste.

We stayed in front of this ghat for viewing Ganga Aarti which is famous in Varanasi. We reached this Ghat after on viewing all others and stayed there for about half an hour and enjoyed the Aarti and were thrilled to see seven persons in a row doing the same.

The Ghat was so busy with people and cows bustling about the place, It is a fascinating place just to watch people and see all the things, holy men, flower sellers etc that are around there. wonderful atmosphere.

It's really kinda cool and I understand that's it's a super holy place for people but i am not one of them holy people so maybe it's just not for me. I got a seat in one of the upper seating areas to watch the ceremony (50rupees) but was pretty bored the entire time and was hoping for a spectacular... More

Lovely place. Strolling along the ghats during day time was a nice experience with the river flowing quietly on one side. A very mesmerising feeling breathing fresh clean air. Across the ghats, the huge sandy island is also a nice and clean place.

It is a shame that the evening arati at Dashashwamedh has become so commercialised, mirroring cheap, garish filmi style.

The Ganga Aarti does happen in all its regalia at Dasaswanedh Ghat, which can't be missed. You have to take out time to see this entire thing from the beginning to end. Reach here 3 hours before the Arti timing, to view the hustle on the ghat and then stay put till 2300 hours in the night to go towards... More

The ganga arti is done here. Although we took the boat ride which was very good and calming(our oarsman was quite a person. He told details about various ghats, stories etc), the arti can be enjoyed from the ghat itself
