Hey folks, I had visited the Lord Kashi Vishwanath temple along with our family. You will get an opportunity to visit the Lord Kashi Vishwanath, Maa Annapurna and Lord Bhairon Nath all at the same place. The temple is very ancient and has good vibes and has very narrow passages to commute by walk. It has multiple entry and exit... More

Try to enter through main gate itself. The other entries will be through even dirtier narrow lanes. The small stretch between the gate and the point of first security check has lot of vendors duping the people. They shout remove your shoes here. Not allowed to wear it . Don't pay attention. Either just before the scan gate or just... More

Cannot enter without passport, and you cannot bring in your camera or cellphone. There are lockers all around the entrance number two, and avoid middle of the day since there will be tons of people there. Shiva dedication temple. One of the most important in india if you are hindu, if not, just another run down temple.

Kashi Vishwanath temple is the centre of millions of hindus. They believe Varanasi is city of Shiva and this is the temple, where God finds it's place. Access is through narrow lanes, which is actually a bustling market. It has its old world charm with sweet fragrance. Crowd management and security is well controlled, as the site houses a masjid... It is the main reason and attraction for people to visit Varanasi. Very commercialised, very dirty and terrible behaviour of the police. One can barely stay for one minute near the idol. People push and run madly. And beware of the shops where you have to keep the shoes and wallets. You cannot take anything inside including mobile, wallets ,... More

This is among the most revered of temples in India and the police security grid tells you even God needs protection from humans. The first time I was here many years ago I was shown a short cut and had a sort of guided tour of the complex. The temple was open but the idol was out of bounds though... More
