The main reason to visit is the majestic Ganga river. The old city revolves around the river. You have to visit the Ghats, watch the evening Ganga Aarti, and see all the ghats on a morning boat ride

We went on a boat to see a festival and put candles into the river as it was the "Duvali" celebration, wonderful. The next morning we saw the... More

You don't come to Varanasi without visiting the River Ganga. This place is very special. I spent most of my time exploring the shores of this spiritual river. I suggest taking an evening boat ride to watch the evening Aarti prayers. Additionally, sunrise on the Ganges is a must.

Visiting Varanasi was an absolute highlight of our trip. Going on day 3 of our tour set the scene for our holiday. The spiritualism, cultural insight and recognition of the importance of the Ganges River to all Hindu Indians was so valuable to our understanding of all future places we visited.

Ganga is the main essence of Banaras... absolutely beautiful. The ganga aarti at dashashwamedh ghat is beautiful. The boat ride was the best part. Floated diyas on the ganga river made me felt good 😊😊😊😊

My wife and I took a morning boat trip on the Ganges whilst visiting Varanasi during a tour of northern India. In order to see the famous Ghats at dawn it necessitated leaving our hotel in the dark at 05:30 (in late November) and making our way down to the Dashaswamedh Ghat, where our small boat was waiting. Although we... More
