Historic place

The fort is across the ganges. You can go there by boat or through road. The family of erstwhile king still lives here. There are some remains of canons etc. Not very attractive

It is very shameful that a palace f a maharaja should be in such a state. What could have been a magnificent museum has got all antiques covered in dust, the corridors filthy and the whole fort in total chaos. The beautiful artillery, the antique cars, the old buggies displayed had a thick layer of dust on it. Entry fee... More

I am really disappointed with the successors of Meharaja of Benaras as this could have been gorgeously maintaned and should ideally be one of the best Maharaja museums in North India. 20 rs ticket with so many visitors - Just to see the dirty though old expensive clothes and victorious rifles !!, why this can not be maintained. If you... More

The museum showcases a glorious past. But the place is not maintained well. The view of ganges is good, but again a lot of maintenance is needed. Outside the fort, you can drink lassi which is a speciality of this place.

Entry was disorganized and chaotic, as was the museum. We had a weapons expert with us who was appalled at the condition and mislabeling of the weapons. There was a wide range of items in the museum and it would help if there were more descriptions of things.

It's not a military fort, even though there's some old cannons around. The fort was never attacked or defended and was basically the home of a rich prince up to modern times. There's a very curious museum inside. Lots of atypical objects (like 1920's to 1950's automobiles along with the obligatory weapons exhibit) which are all covered with a thick... More

So we went to Ramnagar fort with great expectations but we were hugely disappointed. To start with it was a bumpy auto ride to the fort, crossing ganga on a makeshift bridge. Arriving there I paid 20 but my Thai friend had to pay 150. The fort is so unkempt as if it was never cleaned after the king left.... More
