Went for the music event in the evening. Have to walk in the narrow old city lanes to reach. Google map picks up the venue. The classical indian music concert held on Wednesday and Saturday, entry rs 300 per head. The place is in a 300 yr old haveli. Small place. But should go in winters only. During the summer and monsoons it is very humid and hot, and an uncomfortable sitting for the 1 hour concert. It can seat, I think about 20 or 25 people only. We were only 10 people when we went. The music event was of course good. Low rating only because of the uncomfortable sitting. No AC, only fans. No ventilation. When we went it was suffocating.

This was a very nice experience. I don't know enough about classical Indian music to give any sort of real review. The building is around 500 years old and the setting is perfect for sitar, tabla and vocals! Plan to return on my next trip there.

For 150 Rupees each, this small concert on Saturday was one of our highlights. Both artists (one sitar, one tabla player) were mesmerizing and incredibly talented. They played 3 items and explained each one for English speaking tourists.
If you have never seen Indian Classical Music, this place is a must.

Found this in the lonely planet and thought we'd give it a go...fantastic classical Indian performances in a cool intimate setting.
Good variation across the week and tea served at the interval. We went back and I also took the opportunity to take some tabla lessons!
Not the easiest place to find but just ask around the Bengali Tola area. The more eagle eyed will spot the very small signs!

If you have the opportunity to meet the performers please tip them. Artist feed our soul with the true spirit of music, art and dance from ancient cultures. I was so honored to be entertained and educated.

I contacted the place through the Facebook page and although there were no concert that day, they were willing to do so for us if we wanted.
It wasn't expensive and we had a great live classical Indian music concert.

It was a great experience. I've spent 2 hours diving the outer and inner space listening to sitar and tabala instuments. You can hear this beautiful music on Weds and Saturdays there.
