Per my guide, this univeristy is one of the biggest in the world, with about 35,000 local and international students. It offers various specialty studeis such as medicine, arts, languages, etc.
All the buildings have the same pink exteriors with beautiful carvings. They look like palaces to me than educational buildings. There are trees lining up the wide street, limited local transports driving around. I enjoyed my visit here!

A long time dream to visit BHU came true. BHU is part of our history and the dream of Sri Madan Mohan Malviya. Visiting the huge campus made me very happy. Just outside the campus is the chaotic traffic of Varanasi, while once you enter the BHU campus, it is very serene with greenery and peacefulness.

This university was founded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916. Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi was here to commemorate the centenary celebrations in February 2016. The university campus includes various faculties and is spread over 2700 acres or 11 sq.kms. One can either go around in a car/taxi or cycle/auto rickshaw. It also houses a famous Kashi Temple inside the campus. A must see place while visiting Varanasi.

I love to bicycle there! It is set up like half a wheel, so it is easy to ride around it or even get a tour by a rickshaw! The best part is that you can get coffee, meet people, sit and read, or just sit and watch the many people that come and go!
A must visit kind of place!
