Area Marble Emporium, A Great Place for Beautiful Pieces
Went to Agra Marble Emporium with some friends and had a great experience. Their demonstration of their products was entertaining and informative. For the beautiful pieces, the prices are very reasonable. Sonu helped me find the perfect piece for me wife. I would highly recommend.

    1. Agra Marble Emporium in Agra - Watch how the artwork and precious stones were inlaid into the marble at the Taj Mahal
After our visit at Taj Mahal, we selected short visit to Agra Marble Emporium business where we learned the complex processes for inlaying precious stones and artwork used in the thousands and thousands of inlaid flowers and other artwork, into the Makarna Marble. We were able to view artisans performing the intricate processes that are still being handed down father to son…for 17 generations. Their store offers a large collection of beautiful examples of their craft. We bought a small but beautiful elephant with many inlays and a vase. The staff was patient and great!

    Well worth the time
We were amazed by the demonstration of inlaying the tiny pieces of stone into marble in order to create such beautiful pieces. After seeing the Taj Mahal, it was even more impressive to watch. After our demonstration, we had a very pleasant tour of the showroom, where we each chose octagonal pieces and opted to have them shipped. I have never seen anything shipped as securely as these! A foam “ frame” supported the piece, surrounded by multiple layers of styrofoam, all in a very strong, heavy cardboard box sealed closed with staples, tape, and finally industrial-strength strapping. Our visit was a very pleasant one. Yes, you can buy cheaper pieces, but if you look closely, the quality of the inlay just isn’t there, and the marble is much, much thinner.

    Great to do business with.
I visited with a friend as part of the tour of the Taj Mahal which was a little unexpected. The store has some wonderful pieces and the demonstration of how the stones are inlaid was very interesting. I didn’t intend to buy but the salesman was very persuasive and in the end we both purchased a small marble elephant, which was a gift for one of my daughters back home in the UK. . On returning home I wished I had bought one for myself so I ordered 2 more. Unfortunately one arrived with a broken leg. I advised them and without hesitation they sent me another one which I’m very happy with. Great to do business with.

Extra mile to satisfy their clients
Went to a solo trip to New Delhi and took the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal. So, after admiring Taj Mahal in a day tour to Agra, the driver and guide asked me if I wanted to visit a place where the work marble with the same technique as the one used in Taj Mahal. They took me to the Agra Marble Emporium where I could see the most beautiful pieces of work. Clearly with different qualities and different prices. I bought a table top piece with a very high level of detail. Beautiful! I cannot say if it was cheap of expensive, since the others I saw in different markets would not have the same level of craftsmanship as the one I bought here. The piece (together with a the wooden table base) was shipped to Mexico after a few days, however the wooden base was returned due to wood import policies in Mexico. Mr. Raj Kothari got in contact with me to share that the authorities would not let the import of wood into my country but they were trying to comply with all details for the export. I have received today the table base on Mango Wood, with a declaration of a certified anti-plague treated wood that allowed me to finally get the wooden base to Mexican customs. In short, they went an additional mile just to make sure I got what I asked for. Totally thankful to Mr. Raj and the rest of them for the follow up and commitment to the customer.

    Beautiful carvings and Trustworthy company
This is a very reputable store and they stand by their work. They have fabulous marble carvings of vases, table tops, elephants and so much more. Their work is truly beautiful and designs sensitive. Most importantly, they are very responsive after the sale. We bought two items and one of them (an elephant) got damaged in shipping. I emailed them and they promptly sent me a new one to the US. This to me is so important as the products are shipped a long way! Thank you so much!

We got our beautiful marble piece, but we did NOT get the Lazy Susan. They sent a stand by mistake. Hoping that they will fix this error.

We were taken to the Emporium as part of a broader Tour of the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, and found most of the items of excellent craftsmenship and quality.

We were particularly interested in a medium sized statue which after some negotiation we landed on a fair price with the owner and his team. Whilst still expensive, these items are of antique value.

Unfortunately, we had some shipping difficulties with regards to tariffs on import which we had to pay extra to clear customs- if purchasing items which will be shipped to your address ensure that these tariffs are covered in the settled price.

When our statue arrived, there was a defect in the product which was not there when we inspected the item in the store. After messaging their contact over WhatsApp and explaining the issue, after some investigation the owner assured me he will send through another similar statue only requiring the payment of shipment costs. Whilst this was irritating, he was clearly operating at a significant loss to ensure I was happy with purchased item. The replacement item was true to word defect-free and absolutely stunning. The shipping time from that point was very quick as they use express freight which was excellent.

I think so long as you are clear from the outset that this is a true antique store and prepared to follow up should anything go wrong, you can certainly purchase some truly beautiful items from the emporium. I think this addition to the many agra tours you can book via Tripadvisor is worthwhile, even despite the sales pressuring. The items may be expensive, but they are genuine and involve remarkable craftsmenship.
