Very attentive and friendly staffs. Authentic jewelry selections and also nice prompt after-service if you need adjustments. My local friend in Agra recommended me here and it was very satisfying. I love my purchase.

In this case we/I am glad we did not, read the reviews on TA first. However, have a plan, know what you are looking at (gems), and have an idea of worth (value), before you start haggling, we dont start at 50%, like the guides suggest. Probably finish there as long as they start with a reasonable price.

These guys were quite good, nice not pushy, in the end we were happy and so were they.

products with exorbitant prices, do not buy in any way! I bought a necklace with a semi precious stone of Agra 3 x more expensive than anywhere else in India.

A tuk driver brought me here...
They tried to force me to buy their items, which were clearly overpriced. Be careful entering these shops! Better asking the driver to avoid them!

Bought a black star diopside and diamond set dress ring earlier this year. Tour guides take you to "Art Emporiums", and are paid a commission on sales, which I do not have a problem with . Lots of promises that the value of my purchase would double back home - totally hoodwinked, had the ring valued for insurance purposes - it was well overpriced . Ring is worth 3/4 of what I paid. Don't be fooled by the hard sell and charm of this man.

Great museum to see art and buy worthy things. You can see wonderful jewelries. After that big and pretty worthy art by silk which is inside their museum.
The bad point is for men, who are married (kidding). You can buy good gift for your girl friend or wife or ...

My husband and I shopped here in June and bought a blue-star sapphire ring in a custom-made silver band. Although the stone is quite nice, we discovered three serious problems with the band after leaving Agra and showing it to a jeweler we trust:

-The silver was not .925 as promised, but a lesser quality, closer to .8.
-The jeweler stamped the numbers .925 on the outside of the silver band, not on the inside. This is out of sync with professional standards.
-The band did not fit properly; it was not a perfect circle and left a gap between the sides of the finger and the band, due to poor workmanship and improper placement of the shank on the band.

When my husband reached out to the business regarding these issues and described his experience on TripAdvisor in June, the business responded that:

-They would keep a "check on the craftsmen" to make sure no other customer faces the same issue.
-They deeply apologized for the lesser quality of the silver but that 80% purity will not harm the skin or get tarnished sooner than 92.5
-They would try their best to satisfy us in compensation for what happened.

You can see our full post - and the business's full response - in a prior review.

Despite following up with the business multiple times over e-mail and Facebook, they have ignored us and shown no serious indication they would do anything to compensate. Our correspondences with the business were frustrating and unprofessional. When we suggested they send us a ring we had seen in the store and admired as compensation, they informed us that we would have to bear the cost of the shipping. We informed them no more of our money would be going to their store. They eventually said they would be unable to provide the ring, and "request[ed] to not to give such reviews just to get that ring free of cost." When we responded by asking what sort of gift they could provide to compensate us and close the matter, our requests fell on deaf ears.

It is now four months since the incident, and nothing has been resolved. We have not heard back from the business since July.

Not only did this business provide us with an inauthentic and poorly crafted product, but refused to make it right after the fact, despite pledging to do so on multiple occasions.

My auto-rickshaw driver brought my wife and me here when we were in Agra earlier this month. I bought a blue-star sapphire ring in a custom-made silver band for 6,200 rupees.

Three serious problems occurred with the ring:

1. The silver was not .925 as promised, but a lesser quality, closer to .8. We had it tested by a jeweler we trust after leaving Agra.
2. The jeweler stamped the numbers .925 on the outside of the silver band, not on the inside. This is out of sync with professional standards.
3. The silver band did not fit properly; it was not a perfect circle and left a gap between the sides of my finger and the band, due to poor workmanship and improper placement of the shank on the band.

When I informed the store about this, they apologized and told me the mishap with the silver quality was due to an issue with workers in the factory they use, and that they would fire parties responsible. They offered no explanation for the errors in craftsmanship.

The store nicely offered to give a free gift to make up for the incident, but when I told them what I wanted, they said I would have to pay for the shipping! I responded that I am under no circumstances willing to pay them more money and asked if they could propose a solution that accommodated both of our wants. I have received no answer, despite following up several times.

Thank you Mr. Cory Seth for reviewing us. As per the issue with your product, we have kept a check on the craftsmen and made sure that no other customer faces the same issue. The silver, as you said, is 80% but not 92.5%, we deeply apologize for the quality of the product. Though, 80% of silver will not harm your skin or gets tarnished sooner than 92.5. About the size and circle of the ring, we would like to say that the articles sold by us are not machine-made but Hand-made. Of course you bought the ring and spent ₹6200 after checking the ring thoroughly. It was not sold to you without letting you see and check. As to compensate you, we would try our best to satisfy you being in our limitations. We are unable to provide you the Coral Ring for which you are demanding since the first day. On your visit to our store, we could see your deep interest in that ring but we are sorry that we can not provide you the same ring so we request you to not to give such reviews just to get that ring free of cost. Kindly write your home address to gem.gallery.agra@gmail.com and wait. Your patience will highly be appreciated. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted. Regards Gem Jewellery & Handicraft Gallery

Sanjeev hosted my shopping experience here. They have some very nice stones, though not all of their opals were genuine. Sanjeev is a bit pushy, I certainly left the shop having spent more than I intended on more items than I intended to buy. He shares space with a young painter who sells his very nice miniature paintings in the style of the Mughal period.
