Going to Agra during summer vacations can be hectic. Well it was as previously when I drove to Agra it was very tiring and I was able to enjoy my trip as much as I would have. But this time when I visited Agra with my siblings for a weekend it was one the best trips as this time I could enjoy with them without getting troubled. All that happened because of PicNTic travels. I rented a cab for a 2 night and 3 day trip and availed their package for the same. It was well in my budget and did not hamper my pocket at all.

I really wanted to go and see two of the three temples included in this tour (Lotus and Akshardham) but since my time in Delhi was short, I was nervous about having to figure out a way of getting around by myself, ensuring I experienced both to the best of my ability so I chose this tour.

The driver Sanju was great. He arrived promptly at 9am, and was very friendly. He had great conversation and was very humorous. The car was very comfortable and clean and had free and reliable WiFi.

We met up with the guide Hidesh at the first temple (I do hope I have spelt that correctly), and he was very informative and professional.

Due to the tour being on a Sunday, we were able to easily navigate from one temple to another and even finished the tour early, having a late lunch (included) at a fabulous restaurant.

Communication prior to the tour was also excellent - I received a WhatsApp Message confirming the tour and pickup time.

I would highly recommend this tour, and felt completely safe as a solo female traveller.

Many thanks! :)

Our tour guide, Ganesh, was truly wonderful. He was very knowledgable and showed us around this beautiful city. We loved visiting the City Palace and the boat ride--Udaipur is an amazing city!! This tour was a great way to learn about the city's history while also covering many sights--definitely recommend!

CONS:
-At the beginning of the tour I SPECIFICALLY asked the guide, Rocky, to NOT take us to the Government stores and he still took us there despite NUMEROUS requests to not go. YOU will visit 3 government shops and only 2 sites.
-The tour guide, Rocky, had a VERY thick accent that made it difficult for us to understand.
-The tour guide ASKED for a tip at the end. I found this unprofessional.
-The driver of the taxi was falling asleep on the drive home and took too many stops on the drive back despite us NOT needing to use the restroom

-In the shops, i asked about ethical business standards and employment of women in their business and the shop owners became VERY hostile

-The actual sight seeing of the Taj Mahal was RUSHED! There was not time to enjoy the site. All other sites were RUSHED as well

-The company texted me LAST minute stating the new pick up tie would be 2:15am

-We DID NOT get to ACTUALLY WATCH THE SUNRISE! By the time we got there the sun had already risen and the guide Rocky simply pointed out the orange color's of the sun on the white marble (I suggest spending the night in Agra and waking up early to actually see the sunrise and booking with a another company).

Pros:
-Nice breakfast at the Trident in Agra, but a little rushed
-2 free bottles of water in the taxi ride

The driver was good, took the Day Tour package from New Delhi. Driver arrived around 3am. Stopped at a shady looking RnR though. Reached the so called 5 star hotel for breakfast. It was bad. The tour guide was unbearable. He kept asking for good reviews and tips (imho, if you do your job well and go over and beyond, people will automatically tip you). More over he partnered with some shops and some sales people and kept coaxing us to purchase from them or to at least view them when we were adamant that we aren't interested. Wasting our time in the process. He was basically reciting the things he memorized about the buildings we visited.

Last but not least, the condition of the Taj Mahal and it's surroundings are bad. No enforcement what so ever. Litters everywhere, scribbles and vandalism cases.

We perked with this company to pick us up from the outskirts of Agra, take us to a number of the major sites, and then drop us off at Agra Fort Railway station for an overnight train. We were promised an english speaking driver, but this didn't happen. As a result the driver (not his fault) had to keep passing him mobile phone to us at various points during the day, as the owner took and confirmed instructions as to where to next, etc. The problem with this was that it caused a lot more stress which the booking of the driver was meant to avoid - for example we got to Fatehpur Sikri the driver asked if we wanted a guide. We said no, but ended up having one thrust on us anyway... who ended up conniving with the people in the temple to try and rip us off with exorbitant "donations" and massively overpriced souvenirs. After the sightseeing the driver then drove us back to his boss's shop where we were warmly greeted...and attempted to be sold yet more scarves, silks etc which we had made clear we weren't interested in. Ultimately the service was not appalling, but it really was less than promised and the bottom line is that we wouldn't book with this company again if we came back.

My tour started off strong and I appreciate the driver being on time. I slept most of the way to Delhi and there were no issues. Once in Delhi we met the guide at a hotel and this was nice too. We then went to the Taj and it started as a nice visit. The guide showed my Princess Diana's seat and I got my photo from it. However, when I came home I realized that this wasn't Princess Di's seat at all. Apparently the guides tell you things which are aren't necessarily true. The tour started to fall apart when I told the guide I wasn't interested in the "shopping" portion of the trip and we could just skip that. He and the driver mentioned several times that I had to go "shopping" (so they could hopefully get a commission), but alas I wasn't interested. So both the driver and the guide had bad attitudes for most of the remainder of the day. Lunch was okay, but the hotel is only a three star hotel. I had much better food at the Aloft hotel in Delhi. On the way home, the driver coerced me to sign a form saying that he gave great service, but in fact he did not. He watched TV on his phone for a couple hours while driving me back to Delhi. He did stop watching when he realized I had noticed. My driver's name is Vishan.

Our driver picked us up from our hotel in Delhi shortly after 2:30AM. Our driver stopped at a questionable looking rest area in the middle of the night, which particularly for the women in the vehicle, was unsettling. The driver left us in the car and proceeded to have tea and socialize with his friends for about 20-25 minutes, which seemed quite unprofessional. After we left this rest stop we continued our drive to the Taj Mahal. Though it was unclear exactly what the problem was, the driver was driving very slowly for the duration of our journey. It felt as though we were slowing down and then would speed up. This haphazard driving resulted in us arriving at the Taj Mahal later than expected and thus we missed the first few minutes of sunrise, which was most disappointing.

Our tour guide was great, though I think she might have tailored the experience a bit more to the mood of the group. We were all exhausted after a very busy week and were not as into the "pop quiz" and interactive questioning that was interspersed throughout the tour.

We were taken to the Trident hotel for breakfast, which offered a good assortment of breakfast options. After a one hour breakfast we were taken to a Marble Emporium. The works were gorgeous, but the storeowner and workers are quite pushy in trying to sell the items to you. If you do decide you'd like to purchase something, it is a good idea to negotiate the price heavily, most of us who purchased something were able to purchase items for about 50/60% of the original asking price.

Agra Fort was beautiful; however, since the morning portion of the trip was so early we were all pretty exhausted by this point. I would recommend splitting up Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal into two separate day excursions if you happen to be able to stay in Agra for the night to make the most out of the two landmarks.

There was the option to visit a textile market and spend more time in Agra Fort, but we were quite tired, so decided to head back to Delhi around 2:00pm. We arrived back at our hotel at close to 5:00PM.

Overall, while the opportunity to see and tour the Taj Mahal was an opportunity of a lifetime, we were disappointed with the quality of the tour particularly with respect to the driver. Based on the cost of the excursion it would seem some of his behavior was less than professional and this was definitely one of the more disappointing tours we participated in during our time in Asia.

We family of 7 just returned from our 4 day Del-Agra-Jai trip and used HTI for our transportation needs, Driver Sanju and Raj Sharma were really helpful in making this trip a memorable one, from the point of airport pickup to dropoff Driver Sanju was prompt on time and always available for help, we had to leave our lugagge and belongings in the vehicle while we went for shopping/tours/temple visits and Sanju took care of our stuff and made us feel safe. The guides arranged in each location were superb, we learn't so much about the places we visited.

Tips:
* Restaurants- Just inform the driver about your restaurant preferences beforehand(budget/type).
* Expensive shopping stops - Again, inform the driver not to stop at expensive shops, they can take you to other shops which sell the same items for less with lesser commission.
* Vrindavan - Though a beautiful and sacred place, Just be cautious about the donation the temple trust make you pay, its a pressurizing situation and the guide does nothing to help you get out of this trap, just stick to your donation amount and ask the priest not to force you to pay more, we started with Rs 1,000 donation and ended up paying Rs 3,300 after being forced to pay more.
* Fatehour Sikri - This place can be skipped IMO, DO not go without a guide, hawkers are real pain to deal with in this place.

We could not have been happier with the entire experience. We originally booked just the Agra Day Trip but decided to add-on the Jaipur City package. Best decision ever.

The company was named NIKITA HOLIDAY. Their CEO Raj was very helpful and responsive through WhatsApp. Whenever I had a question, he responded within minutes. Made me feel very comfortable.

Our trip started @ 2:30am when our driver Vishan picked us up at our hotel. We had a very comfortable SUV with great A/C. He was the kindest and sweetest man. He allowed us to sleep on the way to the Taj Mahal. In Agra we met our tour guide Raj. He was so knowledgable about the Taj Mahal and took us to all the best spots to take photos.

After Taj Mahal, we had breakfast at a nice hotel which allowed us to freshen up before the 4 hour car ride to Jaipur.

Vishan made the ride go by quickly by sharing amazing stories and entertaining us with his humor and kindness. We felt as if we had known him for years.

Upon arriving in Jaipur, we spent the night at a hotel. The hotel was above average and we were able to get a good nights sleep. After checking out, we had breakfast and met our Jaipur guide, Ashok. He was also incredibly friendly.

I informed Ashok that I wanted to propose to my girlfriend in Jaipur and he knew right away where the best spot was to take us.

Until then we spent the whole day visiting monuments, temples, shops and having lunch.

When the big moment came, Ashok & Vishan we’re ready. They had purchased rose garlands (aka Mala) in secrecy for the ceremony. After I surprised my girlfriend with the ring and proposal. They were there to take beautiful pictures and give us the roses.

They truly were a part of our engagement. Tears and laughs were shared. Vishan & Ashok we’re more than our guides and driver. They became friends that we will remember forever. We will miss them both!

Don’t spend time looking at any other company. Nikita Holiday is the only company to book through!
