Be careful! I was brought here by my tour guide. Bought simple jewelry marble box, but I learned the same day that it was extremely overpriced. Like 3x the market price. I felt forced to even buy more of their items after spending one already. Just be mindful to explore other stores before listening to their pitch. After leaving the store the man who will show you how they are made ran after me and forcing me to buy a Taj magazine for 1,000 Rupees. Window shop before you buy. They are quite knowledgeable of the marbles and story of Taj, they sell very good looking marble tables and they ship internationally. Just shop around and compare and you get better deal. Funny now I can't see them on Google review. Matbe because theyre afraid to let the people know of their tactics.

I ordered a custom dining room table from Marble Cottage for delivery to the USA. Although their products are not cheap, the quality is exquisite. It's a beautiful piece. The item was expertly packed in 2 crates for sea shipping. Mohammad kept me informed of the table's progress through the workshop. This is an excellent company if you are looking for a custom piece.

Typical Tourist trap that doesn’t even bother to try and make the “artisan tutorial” quasi in depth—it was maybe 2 minutes. The owner also doesn’t speak great English, so communication—let alone negotiating—is a joke.

Once inside, the owner is pushy and unwilling to compromise. I love supporting artist’s coops and often am
Ok to slightly overpay if it’s going direct to the artists; but I also don’t think it’s a good spiritual
Precedent to allow oneself to be taken advantage of for mediocre wares. It’s easy to find comparably beautiful (if not more beautiful) marble work not only in Agra and all over India, but in many other travel destinations (Morocco, Italy etc) worldover.

We came here at the end of a Taj Mahal tour and I’m actually glad because we might not have found the place otherwise. They demonstrated how they do it which was really interesting. There is of course some pressure to buy something but the quality is top-rate so if you want to get a marble souvenir of Agra, you can trust this place. We bought a small hexagon to use in the kitchen and some elephants for gifts. Hopefully one day we can order something bigger from them!

No doubt the work is beautiful but beware the high pressure tactics and exhorbitant prices. You will get the same inlaid marble work in Delhi for a fraction of the price. Shop around and know your prices before you go. The tour company get a kickback from these shops.

If you don't want to get ripped off take your time to visit marble cottage. Don't get fooled outside Taj Mahal, grab a tuc tuc and visit this place. Real marble, professional personnel, but most importantly BEST prices. Even as a foreigner they treat you as local. Suggested.

During our holidays in Agra, we had visited the stunningly beautiful Taj Mahal and after completing our visit, our guide took us to this shop where we saw artisans at work creating floral designs over white marble using semi precious stones. Afterwards we purchased beautiful miniatures of the grand Taj Mahal in white marble for a price of 1400 rupees. Many different sizes of Taj miniatures were available with them along with different types of white marble showpieces which can be used for home decorations. It was a nice experience visiting this store.

I visited in December 2017 and bought two lovely pieces- unfortunately we had some problems getting the pieces past customs in the Uk, but Mr Mohammad went out of his way to ensure that the pieces were posted back from India again, and ensured that all costs were covered. The pieces are of excellent quality and the customer services was also excellent throughout. I’d recommend this place to anyone, and thanks to Mr Mohammad again for his efforts.

If you have a good guide for the Taj Mahal... you are in good hands in very good hands! They also help you to make good pictures from you and the Taj. Afterwards they will push you to one of this Shops...we're you could buy Souvenirs. We are here in India - its like a market. If you accept the price in the Shops... you made it wrong and you lose a lot of money. So if you are nice...and talk to the people with a smile you get a good price. We got it... so that's why I can say they are okay. You have to deal with them - then you also have a nice evening. Great Store... with the big selection. Try your luck, it will come.
