You can pick up some nicely carved and beautiful decoration pieces from here made out of marble. They are really excellent and make an excellent gift for friends.

The skills and artistry displayed here is absolutley unique. If you visit the Taj Mahal and go inside you will see 16th century examples of whats being offered by this co-operative. A co-operative of families that are multiple generations old. When you look at the finished peices take a minute to obseve the size of the patterns, the number of colours, and complexity. Ultimately the price is dependant on these factors

This Arts centre has an interesting demonstration of how the inlaid work is done with semi precious stones into marble. There are numerous rooms each selling different goods made in the area leather work clothing etc. and so well staffed. However everything was very expensive and not worth the money they were asking for. Given a drink on arrival too. Lots of tour groups going around.

The information and demonstration of how the stones were prepared for the Taj Mahal are very interesting. They make some wonderful things. It is a little uncomfortable when you do not want to buy anything. However, they make you very welcome and you are not obliged to buy.

I taught gem-cutting for over twenty years but this was mind-blowing! The descendants of the Persians brought in to help build the Taj Mahal are still working their old skills using the same care and equipment. The small size of each gem piece is remarkable and how they use these beautiful colours (lapis, malachite, turquoise, carnelian etc wow!) to build up decorations, flowers etc. is remarkable. The marble used is a lovely translucent white (light will shine through it), tough and resistant. One can buy a small coffee table top (fold able legs supplied) which can easily be taken overseas. Prices are good, too.

We had a tour and did some shopping. The tour was exceptional! Looking at how they produced the pieces and their craftsmanship was well worth the tour. I purchased a side table for my wife and a small "Tree of Life" plate for my office. Expensive, but in my mind worth it.

Geotechnical engineering deals with materials (e.g. soil and rock) that, by their very nature, exhibit varied and uncertain behavior due to the imprecise physical processes associated with the formation of these materials. Modeling the behavior of such materials in geotechnical engineering applications is complex and sometimes beyond the ability of most traditional forms of physically-based engineering methods. Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more popular and particularly amenable to modeling the complex behavior of most geotechnical engineering applications because it has demonstrated superior predictive ability compared to traditional methods.

Really no one goes with the idea of buying a table and soon you are convinced you cannot live without one. A nice demo, free drinks, pleasant staff. Prices were high but so too was some of the work. They start you off at the high end priced tables and then take you through lots of different rooms and cheaper prices. Do haggle if you fall in love despite being told they are fixed by the tour guy.
