We were a little wary when our guide took us to this marble outlet, but our suspicions were quite unjustified. We watched wonderful work being done and stones being worked, polished and fitted, and given a fascinating account of the process. There was no charge, and no undue pressure to buy anything. We were shown their finished products and decided... More

Terrific insight into how they did the marble inlays at the Taj Mahal so well worth a visit. You'll be gently pressured into buying something but ask to see all the rooms with things for sale before buying anything. We weren't which was disappointing. Items get very expensive but the workmanship is extraordinary. We spent AUD 250 which got us... More

Our guide took us to this factory outlet for inlaid marble. The craftmanship is truly astounding in what we were told is a dying art. After seeing a demonstration you will be taken into the showroom with the typical "rug merchant" sales process. However, they are not overly pushy. Prices are somewhat negotiable but still very expensive reflecting the labor... More

After our magnificent trip of the Taj, we were taken to Akbar to see live demonstration of the Inlay work being done. We were surprised to see this art is still being taken forward by the descendants from the Mughal era. We found a perfect piece which now sits lovingly next to our fireplace!

Their work is heirloom quality and their prices are negotiable. I have now been there 3 times and most recently bought a coffee table, which was delivered to the U.S. 10 days after placing the order. This is a dying art and purchasing these beautiful marble inlay pieces is a way to insure the craftsmen stay employed. I highly recommend... More

To see the beautiful work on how the stones are inlaid into the marble. A dying craft and such beautiful pieces in their showroom. A nice stop after visiting the Taj Mahal

I loved seeing how the marble inlay work was done. The intricacies and thin pieces of semi precious stone that they are able to produce and then inlay into blocks of white marble taken from the Taj Mahal quarries was super interesting. We noticed that one of the craftsmen had no finger prints left due to the grinding of the... More

Incredible visit to the Akbar store after visiting Taj Mahal. There you can see directly the astonishing techniques and designs from the hand made marble pieces with a top quality. Additionally, we receive an outstanding service and demonstration from the staff during our visit. I got a beautiful marble piece from the store for my Agra remembrance. I really recommend... More

If you are in Agra and it is time to combine a bit of shopping with some lessons on the craft of marble table making then visit Akbar International. This is the third time we have been to Akbar International. the first time in February 2016 was a delight and we purchased several small beautiful pieces (statues, lazy Susan, boxes).... More

I traveled to Agra on a day trip with my friends. After visiting the wonderful marble mausoleum Taj Mahal, we were taken to visit a marble factory. After seeing the beautiful marble inlay work in Taj Nahal we were curious to see that how such beautiful handicraft is done. The place Akbar International is a large museum like place and... More
