This huge fort sits on the banks of the Yamuna river built in red sandstone. Constructed almost 500 years ago by the Murghal. There is lots to see here with some amazing architecture! Unfortunately hawkers are out in force with everything from trinkets to CD's and picture albums of the fort. We had a tour guide (in each city that... More

The history of Agra Fort is very interesting. Apart from Taj Mahal this is another important place to visit in Agra which was built by Akbar, a Mughal emperor. It is a vast museums of ancient buildings and palaces. My husband actually likes this place more than Taj Mahal. I like both but the tour guide we hired here was... More

A huge structure, essentially a city within the city. Unfortunately we only had time to go round the tiniest part of it, but I found it much more impressive than the TM. if I came back to Agra I'd forgo the Taj and spend the day poking round here instead.

Agra fort, is the most important fort of India and numerous mughals lived here and country was governed from here. You can see Taj Mahal from Agra Fort. It has a mosque inside for the mughals.

The immense fort, is located about 2 miles from The Taj Mahal, and if the weather is right, you can get a good view of it. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638. The size is immense, covering over 90 acres, and contains many buildings, and at one stage there were over 500,... More

We loved it! Probably one of the best places of our trip to India. It's a bit expensive but you won't be disapointed!

once you have to see in life time...need a local guide if you need to know about full history. Guides are available entrance itself, fluent in both hindi and english. you can bargain and get low as Rs.100 for a guide. More than Rs.150 for a guide is not recommended from my part .
