Very overpriced place to visit for foreigners. The gardens themselves are not much to look at. There are some ruins which have barbed wire around them and they partially block the view of the Taj Mahal.
Definitely not worth the time out the money.
Toilets were clean, though there was a lady asking for money in them.
The if a better viewing spot a bit further up the road and it is much cheaper.

Total waste of money! None of the plantings have reached maturity and very little restoration work has been done. Maybe come in 2040.

Mehtab Bagh is realy good specially either in early morning and evening. Taj Selfie point is also near by [This is maintained by UP Government]. But parking to this place is not well mainitaned. even fater paying Rs 100 for car parking, you have to either walk for ~1km or shell out another 100Rs for local autos. Where as locals, Government Vehicles can go close to both Mehtab Bagh and Taj Selfie point.

The park is not well mantain. You pay an entrance fee just to take pictures of Taj Mahal. They need to trim grass and mantain the park.

If you want the best photo of the Taj Mahal, DO NOT pay 300 Rp per person to visit Mehtab Bagh Gardens. The gardens are poor quality, and the Taj views are obstructed by barb wire fences and a wall.
When you arrive at the gardens entrance, follow the signs down the cobblestone path toward the riverbank to the TAJ VIEWPOINT ADA (Agra Development Association). Taj Viewpoint is on the Yamuna riverbank diectly IN FRONT OF the Mehtabh Bagh gardens and offers a much better view for just 50 Rp per person! A better experience for a much cheaper price than the Gardens.
There are lockers at the Viewpoint gate if you need them.

This garden is located behind the Tajmahal. I took nice shots of the Tajmahal along with my spouse. Place is neat and clean. The cab which we had taken, dropped us at parking area, from which we walked around 15mins and here we are. The entry fee is 25 Rs per person. The security did not allow selfie sticks inside the garden. So, if you have one better leave at your cab or car. I would certainly recommend everyone to visit this place.

Careful with this place. Been there last week . The security guard told us we are not allowed to film using our phone and ask to give him 1000 rupees and don’t told anyone. Scammer!!! The only place I feel safe is when im inside the hotel. I took a video of it but wasn’t able to capture his face. Beware!

Goodness me, never have I been so disappointed whilst on holiday! Moonlight Gardens sounds so romantic and picturesque. You envision a lush green space full of flowers with the Taj Mahal as a backdrop, totally stunning surely? No, no, no!!!
There are no flowers as the Mhoguls had only plants and trees in their gardens so be prepared that these are not gardens in the traditional Western sense. What really got me though is how poorly maintained they are for a top tourist site. The area is very sparse (certainly not lush), with litter all around and the walkway cracked and broken and with barbed wire to welcome you. In my opinion, you don't even get an attractive view of the Taj Mahal from this side.
In hindsight, I suppose I should not be surprised as Agra was by far the dirtiest city I have visited. So poor that the authorities do not care about their gem and see it only as a cash cow tourists will visit regardless. Shame on you.
Not worth going to these gardens. My hotel grounds whre a peacock came up to my room window were much, much prettier!
