Nice temple but required lot of time and strength as need to walk without shoes and floor is really pinch. But very beautiful temple. U can buy tickets to if want to run away from the free queue but very tiresome even if u paid.

The Sri Meenakshi Temple has been on my list for years and it did not disappoint. Centrally located in Madurai (some hotels/restaurants have rooftop views of the temple), the complex draws large crowds but tourists seem to be a small minority. Note that large portions of the grounds are off limits to non-Hindus. You are allowed to bring a cell... More

Very large temple complex. Very busy too. Beware that you cannot visit everything as a non hindu. A guide is recommended, but without a guide you have more time to experience the temple as it is. We stayed (and waited for more than one hour) late to witness the closing ceremony, some years ago set up as a tourist activity.... More

Plenty of time I visited this Meenakshi Temple.. But every time it is a fresh experience. Both God Sundareswarar with Goddess Meenakshi would bless us for our success in all walk of life. Four huge temple towers in all four directions are very attractive. In this time I saw "Rotating Lingam" painted in the ceiling by an artist. It revolves... More

When in Rome.. temples are a big part of the Indian culture and the Menakshi temple is definitely worth a visit. Not as old as for example the temple in Tanjavur but there is lots to see. Definitely get a guide - he will explain lots of things you otherwise would have overlooked... make sure you check his license first... More

This was ours fourth visit to the Meenakshi temple in the last 3 decades. Every time this temple offers the same devotional attraction. Earlier the Darshan of Sri Meenakshi Amman used to be easy and satisfying but nowadays because of large number of visitors it has become difficult, time consuming and flash Darshanam for a few seconds. Except this the... More

Enjoyed the blessings in the temple and the harmonious environment in and around the temple. Spent times in the steps of the golden lotus pond.

This temple have four gate to enter, there is temple of amma and swami separate, so we need to buy two different ticket for special Darshan. The temple follow strict timing for closing at after noon 12:30 ,and at night even. Thousand pillar hall is also inside the temple. Even temple compound is very lively alonge with roadside bazar .

Not only is this temple an architectural marvel, the spiritual happiness you get is extraordinary. The two temples of Sree Parvathy (Meenakshi Amman) and Lord Shiva (Sundaresan) are great temples. However we have to start by praying before Mahaganapathi
