You must have travelled in toy trains in India but if you haven't one at nilgiris then you have missed the most beautiful scenic views you get to see during the travel..

The queen of the hills, Nilgiri Mountain Railway, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's the beauty and nostalgia of the narrow gauge railway that attracted us. It didn't disappoint us in it's still very British setting chugging away between Coonoor and Ooty. The leisurely ride through the small little stations of Wellington, Aravankadu, Ketti, Lovedale and finally Ooty will... More

It's interesting but nothing great. The first class is a better option as the seats are allotted and you don't need to stand in line.

This World Heritage trip is a must if you are in the area. We stayed in Coonoor and had to get a 5am coach down to Metapalyam to get the train back up the mountain. A very enjoyable 3 hour very steep ride with a delightful young family in our compartment. A few scary bits like bridges where you can... More

We traveled from Coonoor to Ooty from this train. The journey is really worth of an experience and offered amazing and beautiful views. At some points in between, it felt like you are floating in the sky as it was running just on the edge. The whole experience can be cherished for lifetime. Inexpensive and time-saving journey.

We took train from Coonoor and reached Ooty in the train. As it's our first such experience in the Mountain Railway, we enjoyed it. Though it was not scenic or full of excitements. If you had experienced it before at any other place, you may not find it worth. The train left from Coonoor to Ooty at regular intervals and... More
