About
The Dhyanalinga is set amidst the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship. In June 1999, Dhyanalinga was consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a realized master, mystic and yogi, after three years of intense process of prana prathista (process of energizing an object using one's own life energies). Measuring 13' 9", Dhyanalinga is the largest mercury-based live linga in the world. All the aspects of life are enshrined in the form of seven chakras, energized to the very peak and locked to prevent dissipation over time. It is expected that the energies of the Dhyanalinga will not suffer dissipation for at least 5000 years. THEERTAKUNDS The Dhyanalinga features two Theerthakunds, which are subterranean tanks with solidified mercury lingas immersed in water, built as preparatory tools to enhance one's spiritual receptivity before entering the Dhyanalinga. The Theerthakunds, are very powerful by themselves. It straightens out the energy or the pranic imbalances in a person, which leads to physical and mental well-being. Above all, it creates a tremendous receptivity to imbibe the energies of Dhyanalinga. They are open for Gents and Ladies from 7:30AM to 8:00PM NADHA ARADHANA An offering of sound to the Dhyanalinga, Nadha Aradhana is an etheric blend of vocals, singing bowls, drums and various other instruments amplified within the reverberating Dome, transporting one into the timeless space of the Dhyanalinga. The offering takes place twice a day, from 11:50 am to 12:10 pm and from 5:50 pm to 6:10 pm. These times are recognized as special sandhya kalas for meditators. A sandhya kala is a phase when nature undergoes certain transitions and makes a person more receptive to inner possibilities. AUMKAR MEDITATION Visitors to the Dhyanalinga can further deepen their experience by attending this daily introduction to the timeless and powerful mantra "Aum." This meditation is known to have transcendental qualities. It can bring peace and balance to one's system, and is known to relieve people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly. Aumkar meditation is offered daily from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

The bold, strong and powerful existence of the dome and the Linga within it, overwhelms you into a meditative state. If one is evolved to an extent, and comfortable with oneself and the quietness of mind, they may relish the experience. Else, it can be eerie and cause discomfort that one may want to strut away asap, not even sitting through the brief 15 min time that is usually given. Coughs of adults and whimpers and crying of children spoiled my experience, but experiencing this is good.

Dhyanalinga is a form of Shiva created by Sadguru, to bring life force focused on one's growth. I arrived around 3pm. It took us around 2-3 hours inside. To enter one has to leave mobile and shoes outside. The whole visit starts with a dip in a pond specially created. The holy dip prepare one's to receive energy. Once inside one need to go to Dhyanalinga which is a place of worship and do meditation. This is great place to get energy level high. I recommend someone to visit to have an experience of this wonderful place.

Visited here during a business trip to Coimbatore and was stunned by the peace and tranquility of the site. Yes it is becoming commercialised but so are many visitor attractions around the world.
The temple visit was, although not a particularly religious person, energising and relaxing!
15 minutes of contemplation where I thought of nothing but my mother who passed away 20 years ago.
The Shiva sculpture is enormous and awe inspiring and although busy very well worth a visit if ever in the area.
Made my trip to Coimbatore so much more enjoyable.

Goood place to visit, All together appears to be difference place no comparision to any existing place in india. Could be better to plan to visit the place by 4:00pm onwards so that sadguru may be avaialble during evening.
During meditation @ dhyanalinga, i sensed lot of people were struggling to get peace, by their intentional may be unavoidable cough, laughter, dis respecting culture of the place, even challenging silence, breaking the rules of the house, disturbing the atmospehere. May be it is transformation of thier innnnnnner piece in to peace............let god bless our attitude. Please visit dhanalinga leaving kids, mobiles at home or at hotel, of course please carry your valut purse.then one can enjoy inner peace. Please enjoy marvalous architecture of the dome and efforts put in, dedication of the foreign disciples, well established SOP, enjoy excellence enviourment. My small feed back to sadguru guruji, if possible try to put rope or suport in the surya kund, becasue i am water darpuk, i returned back wihout completing surya kund dip, it may help other darpuks like me.

Sadhguru is the founder of Isha Foundation, he’s a mystic, yogi and visionary.
Dhyanlinga is at Isha Yoga Centre in the Velliangiri Foothills in Coimbatore.
The Dhyanlinga was consecrated by Sadhguru the founder of Isha Yoga Foundation in June 1999.
It is advised that before entering the Dhyanlinga visitors take a dip in the Theerthakunds, energized water bodies with a solid mercury Linga. It was built as a preparation to enhance visitors/participants spiritual receptivity before entering the Dhyanlinga.
While having a dip in the Theerthakund you feel the energy and the water is very cold yet refreshing. .
There are 2 Theerthakunds namely Suryakund for gents and Chandrankund for ladies. Both are special in their own ways.
The Dhyanlinga is a mercury based Linga and the temple is very special and beautiful with its round dome.
Rituals are normally not performed in that area.
Visitors are requested to access the temple in silence as the consecrated space is vibrant of energy. Many participants sit in a meditative there to imbibe the spiritual experience.
Visitors are requested to sit for a minimum of 15 minutes or longer to benefit from the divine power of the Dhyanlinga.
The temple is open to everyone no matter their faith.
Children can also visit the temple as long as they are accompanied by their parents or elders. They should keep silence.
The volunteers are very helpful and they guide visitors with love and respect. It is really commendable the way the volunteers assist each and everyone.
As per my previous visits and experience I believe the Dhyanlinga is a must experience place in one’s lifetime.
Please note pictures, mobiles are not allowed inside the temple.
I would highly recommend Dhyanlinga to visitors as the energized temple impacts people at all levels be it on the spiritual, mental,, focus, meditative, wellbeing.

The temple was very big, fortunately the day we visited over there is maha shivratri.
So we have to walk too much and spend lots of money to get entry tickets.
The price was too high
Minimum ticket range was 250 and goes to 2500.
It's ok for some but there is little bit expensive who can't afford .
I saw many peoples over there who is just in dilemma that go inside or not.
The management should be reasonable and cut the price tag.
Any way it was nice place to visit if u are going in summer then must keep water bottle and hat.

It is like no other place I have ever been. As soon as you are in the vicinity of the Dhyanalinga you go into another state of being. I was in awe of the energy that was transmitted and kept wanting to go back there again and again. It is a powerful experience to meditate in the presence of the Dhyanalinga. I highly recommend going if you have the opportunity, it has the potential to transform your life.

Unique experience, very serene atmosphere.
Crowded, loved to have it less noisy, more quite more better.people should understand the serenity of the place and learn to keep quiet.
Have some reservations about light and sound show , and making human figures over shiva statue . Using it as a platform looses all the divine feelings.

Although Coimbatore is a little difficult to reach from Viskapatnam. I decided it's on my do list.
However to see for myself the vast areas of beautiful forests of the Vellagiri hills.
This is Very energetic place. sitting there for one hours took me to a different level of meditative state, eyes closed, with everything else happening somewhere far away and all my attention engaged by the energy structure filling the room. They say it’s like sitting with a living Guru, still and silent. They say anyone sitting there in that sphere for a few minutes is like sitting in front of a living guru. Dyanalinga is in a sense guru.
A space like no other on this planet.
This is magnificent place.I have no words for describe it.
Great architecture, a must visit place on your trip to Coimbatore .
The place where you find your innersoul.
I can feel myself evolving to a higher state of consciousness. This is truly a special place which is much needed in our society today.
