About
The Dhyanalinga is set amidst the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship. In June 1999, Dhyanalinga was consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a realized master, mystic and yogi, after three years of intense process of prana prathista (process of energizing an object using one's own life energies). Measuring 13' 9", Dhyanalinga is the largest mercury-based live linga in the world. All the aspects of life are enshrined in the form of seven chakras, energized to the very peak and locked to prevent dissipation over time. It is expected that the energies of the Dhyanalinga will not suffer dissipation for at least 5000 years. THEERTAKUNDS The Dhyanalinga features two Theerthakunds, which are subterranean tanks with solidified mercury lingas immersed in water, built as preparatory tools to enhance one's spiritual receptivity before entering the Dhyanalinga. The Theerthakunds, are very powerful by themselves. It straightens out the energy or the pranic imbalances in a person, which leads to physical and mental well-being. Above all, it creates a tremendous receptivity to imbibe the energies of Dhyanalinga. They are open for Gents and Ladies from 7:30AM to 8:00PM NADHA ARADHANA An offering of sound to the Dhyanalinga, Nadha Aradhana is an etheric blend of vocals, singing bowls, drums and various other instruments amplified within the reverberating Dome, transporting one into the timeless space of the Dhyanalinga. The offering takes place twice a day, from 11:50 am to 12:10 pm and from 5:50 pm to 6:10 pm. These times are recognized as special sandhya kalas for meditators. A sandhya kala is a phase when nature undergoes certain transitions and makes a person more receptive to inner possibilities. AUMKAR MEDITATION Visitors to the Dhyanalinga can further deepen their experience by attending this daily introduction to the timeless and powerful mantra "Aum." This meditation is known to have transcendental qualities. It can bring peace and balance to one's system, and is known to relieve people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly. Aumkar meditation is offered daily from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

This place is the best for a retreat. Just sit here, meditate and look back at your life. What all happened, what all u regret, what all blessings u received. Excellent place. Best time would be to enter around 5:30 PM and meditate till the end. This 50 minutes will transform your life.

The purpose of the place ( Dhyan) is not fulfilling due to too much crowd visit. Its like a picnic spot for people to roam around for a day and spend time at the premises.

Although Coimbatore is a little difficult to reach from Viskapatnam. I decided it's on my do list.
However to see for myself the vast areas of beautiful forests of the Vellagiri hills.
This is Very energetic place. sitting there for one hours took me to a different level of meditative state, eyes closed, with everything else happening somewhere far away and all my attention engaged by the energy structure filling the room. They say it’s like sitting with a living Guru, still and silent. They say anyone sitting there in that sphere for a few minutes is like sitting in front of a living guru. Dyanalinga is in a sense guru.
A space like no other on this planet.
This is magnificent place.I have no words for describe it.
Great architecture, a must visit place on your trip to Coimbatore .
The place where you find your innersoul.
I can feel myself evolving to a higher state of consciousness. This is truly a special place which is much needed in our society today.

Be more friendly and accommodativeI had stayed at Isha foundation from 14th October to 16th ,there are too many lapses such ad

Entry to our room - path way is uneven which creates big problem even pushing trolly and on top of that if room is on 1st floor it becomes more difficult especially to elderly people .

Other than reasonably good room no other facilities are provided and no designated place allowed to do yoga /meditation .

Before 10 am nothing is available to eat ,in block they serve Brunch consist of rice ,rasam ,salad and banana

Canteen is there but opens after 11.30

Even after being in house guest we were not allowed to visit meditation area till 11 am

Can't even go for morning walk ,security refuses to step out before 10 am

On day of check out our time to vacate room by 4 pm,and we were ready and even had booked cab to go to Coimbatore ,but at 2 pm started raining very heavily we requested cab to come at 6 pm ,but when requested reception to extend one hour due to rain they said no vacate on time or pay rs 850 ,we vacated the room on time , we requested them to keep luggage for sometime till cab comes and rain stops but they said no we don't allow ,no courtesy to offer seat ,they can see it was raining heavily ,we carried bags in rain and walked almost 3 00 meters to reach canteen for shelter ,

Overall experience says that the staff only knows how to say NAMASKARA but have to humanity

The Dhyanlinga Temple is primarily a meditation center with a huge Shiva Lingam in the middle of it. Thus it becomes easy for all to focus on it from any which side they may be seated. Dhyana Lingam reminded me of the meditation center at Auroville, which is a total void though and allows anyone to meditate according to their own set of beliefs. A visit to the Dhyana Lingam could be taken while you are visiting the Adiyogi Shiva, a must visit site.

The temple was very big, fortunately the day we visited over there is maha shivratri.
So we have to walk too much and spend lots of money to get entry tickets.
The price was too high
Minimum ticket range was 250 and goes to 2500.
It's ok for some but there is little bit expensive who can't afford .
I saw many peoples over there who is just in dilemma that go inside or not.
The management should be reasonable and cut the price tag.
Any way it was nice place to visit if u are going in summer then must keep water bottle and hat.
