The Gypsy Culture Center provides both a place of communion for international and local musicians, as well as a window into the music of Rajasthan.

The owners are incredibly hospitable, and talented artists in their own right. I can't recommend a visit here enough.

A friend of ours invited us to join us at one of his favorite spots and introduced us to his gypsy friends. We greatly enjoyed meeting them, the music, the dancing (I even danced with them!). We weren't the only one, though, there was another large group near us who were having a grand time celebrating a recent wedding. The bride, groom, groom's sister, grooms friends were all singing along with each song and also joined in the dancing. A good time was had by everyone! The main dancer's lovely young teenage daughter also danced and helped her mom perform some pretty impressive dances. The place had a delightfully friendly, family oriented atmosphere, and a real sense of authenticity. Not to be missed, if you are in Udaipur!

We went to Sayari on the advisor friends and enjoyed it immensely. Gypsy music and dancing that was authentic and fun, in a relaxed environment. We’d seen some music at restaurants and other venues and this was much better and more engaged. More like a traditional western music house than we’ve seen anywhere in India.

This is the best place in Udaipur if you want to experience Rajasthani music and dance firsthand. Not only are the world famous performers top of the line, but Sayeri and Sheru are such warm and hospitable people that they're often available for fascinating discussions. The location is perfect as well - right in the heart of a shopping area that's clean and not too crowded with easy walking to most of Udaipur's best areas. The spacious rooms are wonderful as well

I spent a couple of hours here eating a wonderful veg thallium and being entertained by superb music and entertaining gypsy traditional dance. Sayari was informative and personable, an evening of education and entertainment. Highly recommended for both food and an evening to leave you in high spirits.

I had the pleasure to spend a couple of days and nights at Sayari's new cultural center few weeks ago. The roof top show was as ever: very good, the show in the restaurant was also great and the rooms are beautiful. Overall the gypsy spirit is to be felt all the time...some music going on here and there...some signing...I went to bed listening to some beautiful music one night: a privilege really!

I've know them for a number of years, but I happen to be at their new cultural center at its very beginning and the atmosphere is very familial and friendly, easy going....MY PLACE whenever I'll be back in Udaipur. And I sure do plan to be there more and more!!!
