It is in the main market and literally tucked away. once you are inside there are several rooms to explore each over flowing with traditional furniture, accent pieces, artifacts, crafts, hand looms, handicrafts etc. you can spend a long time here as you see the varied things on display! The building itself is in typical rajasthani style and looks lovely.

If you want to shop in Udaipur, I suggest you just pay a visit to this emporium and you will leave with your pockets lighter but your satisfaction heavier! They offer everything! And the quality and range is far much better than any shop in Udaipur. One section displays bags and apparel of the famous Udaipur based designer Vipul Shah and I had a chance to meet him there itself. You will find a sheesh mahal room in their havelis as well! These guys are quite passionate about their profession. But better to ditch your car and travel in local auto as it’s centrally located in the old city and the streets are quite congested and narrow for big vehicles.

This shop is located in a beautiful Old Mansion located on City Palace Road.
You can spend hours here, admiring all the products they offer going room after room filled with all the treasures you will find here.
If you want to shop in Udaipur it is the only place you need to go.
Gorgeous, Textiles, Handbags, Clothing, Wall Hangings, Cashmere blankets, Handmade Bed Spreads, Paintings, Wooden Items, Rugs, Statues, Cushion Covers and the list goes on and on. The collections are BEYOND BELIEF!
The products are all of the very highest quality.
The shop has been recommended by Conde Nast Traveller, Frommer’s , New York Times, Vogue and Travel & Leisure and others.
We were staying at The Oberoi Udaivilas and it was recommended we go there.
On one of the walls you can see pictures of worldwide celebrities, dignitaries etc. all who have shopped here. It was impressive to see!
They can also ship home to you anything you buy for a very reasonable price.
The owners are so wonderful and hospitable, explaining everything to you in great detail.
We bought some beautiful items here. They are honest and trustworthy.
Thanks to Vishal and Laxman for your great incredible service to us.

Ganesh Handicraft Emporium is a hidden treasure trove of beautiful Indian fabrics, scarves, bags, quilts, clothing and more. The warehouse which is down a little alleyway off the road up to the palace is housed in a historic building with beautiful features. Make sure you have plenty of money because there is guaranteed to be something that catches your eye. Prices are reasonable and they will post things home for you so you don't have to worry about luggage allowances. My bed quilt and wall hanging have arrived in London so when they say they deliver, they are true to their word! The service is excellent and whilst we were there, we were treated to complimentary drinks.

On a recent visit we were taken to this lovely haveli - it is just like an Aladdin's cave with each room producing more beautiful fabrics, artefacts than the last. The owners were very welcoming and very patient as we selected, changed our minds, added more etc etc! They also went out and found us the BEST coffee - a rare experience in that part of India. All the goods were posted back to us, arriving the day after our return. The quality and selection of pashminas, throws, bedcovers, cushion covers and fabrics is superb and the prices are fair. Hunt around - there is also some interesting carving and art work…. Don't miss this place.

This warren of rooms is a trove of all types of colorful local textiles and handicrafts ranging from inexpensive to deluxe. We found beautiful shawls for friends back home and would have purchased more if baggage limitations had allowed.

Tucked away up an alley this opens up into a true emporium. Lots of rooms full of clothes, rugs, bags, antiques. Apart from some amazing goodies that I took with me I ordered a rug made from old bridal sari embroideries which they shipped to NZ for me. Arrived when expected and was what I ordered. Not cheap Indian nick nacks, amazing handbags!

If you’re in Udaipur and love textiles then this is an absolute must. And if money was no object then the shop would be bare as I loved it all. Catering to all different budgets, it had a variety of qualities available, both contemporary and vintage. Of course there were no prices marked so it was a question of bargaining but that’s true in many places. We were taken there by a guide initially when I expressed an interest in shopping. So glad he took us as it is rather hard to find being set back off the road down a whitewashed covered ‘alley’

I was in the shop last week with a tour group and purchased two long-sleeved white tunics. It took me a very long time to find two that were not damaged and in the correct size (they are laying in a mass on the floor and nearly all of the white shirts were stained). I paid for them, and then, unfortunately, when I returned home, I found that when the shirts were repackaged and bagged, the bagger managed to get filthy fingerprints all over the shirts. It's really quite frustrating as now I will have to attempt to bleach both shirts as none of the dirt came out in the regular wash. It's exceedingly frustrating as they weren't inexpensive, especially for India. I also found that the stitching is coming out on the embroidery.
If you go here, be prepared for walls and walls of merchandise all over the place. It's overwhelming (like a lot of stores in India) and it is hard to distinguish the quality merchandise from the mass produced crap. It also smells of mildew, so make sure to check whatever you purchase very carefully. Lots of tour groups go here, and it's a rather well-known establishment. They speak English and take any reasonable currency (Rupee, Dollar, Euro, GBP, etc.) and it seemed that they preferred to take non-Rupee currency, likely due to the issues the country has had with its value.

I absolutely loved visiting this haveli store. It's set in a beautiful, old, but restored house and just taking a tour around is experience of its own. There are many rooms and every room is filled with one of a kind pieces. So much to explore here. I have never seen a textile store quite like this. The owners were extremely nice and welcoming. I only wish I had splurged on a beautiful pashmina bed throw they had.
