It is the Kul-temple of the Royal Family of Mewar and present Udaipur. Darshan is easy and the place is an archaeological site.

Too many barricades, no - Socks, bags and even cameras allowed inside. If you are not there for the 12:30pm arti then it is a real bore as the temple looks the same as all others in Rajasthan. Biggest joke was when I entered the temple I wanted to support the floral ladies and bought 1 garland only to walk literally 4 steps and be told by the guard that I had to place it in a basket kept by the entrance of the temple with a locked gate and move by another entrance to see the 4 headed shiva lingam from afar. It wasn't just m,e who went through this ridiculous experience but all tourists. Definitely worth a miss.
However if you are looking to buy a 4 headed lingam as a souvenir the shops near the temple are a rip off... walk to the furthest and youll get one for INR 180/- as opposed to the same statue for 350/- at the 1st shop.
Architecture wise the temple from the outside is not well maintained despite it being claimed to be the King's personal temple. I spent literally not more that 10 mins after having traveled so long for this visit.

A well organized and neat arrangements for the devotees. Clean temple areas and people in an organized queue made it easy for the Darshan & Blessings of Eklingji. A trip to Udaipur is not complete till you seek blessings at the Eklingji Temple.

Temple is clean and well organized. Great for religious folks. Photography is strictly prohibited..cameras are checked . However even if it was allowed, not many photo ops as there is a green cover and railings blocking the views. No pictures possible even from outside.
