About 3 hours of 22 kilometers trip through he Kumbhalgarh in the early morning in April through the Wildlife Sanctuary is life time experience in watching nature in its pristine glory. Little short on wild life, but 100 on 100 in natural beauty of virgin Arawalli hills and forests.

It is located in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan. It surrounds the Kumbhalgarh fortress and covers an area of 610.528 km2 (236 sq mi).

There are two time slots to visit sanctuary either in the morning or in the evening, we have visited in the evening time. There is no much sighting happened during our visit but we have seen baby crocodile, parakeets, white breasted kingfisher, Sambal Deer & Royal Stag.

After visiting we felt if we visit in the month of May we get a chance to sight hyena, jackal or wolf. But one thing for the sighting is confirm that it should be purely based on your luck if it is feasible!

Jeep Ride below the fort, we booked the evening safari near Gujarat-Restaurant for 2250 directly with the guide, (There are few Safari booking stations which charge Rs 3500, so avoid them) and its totally not worth even 2250. What to expect:? A bumpy 4x4 jeep safari along the jungles , View of the Marwar-Mewar Border Gate where tax was collected in earlier days. We didnt spot any animals, except a few cows. If one just want to get a tour of the jungle in the jeep then go ahead otherwise avoid.

Only visit to the lake where there are lot of CatFish are there is worth. It was included in the Safari package.

The Jungle safari starts at 6 AM and is available till 9 AM in the morning. Afternoon timings are 3 PM-4.30 PM. We were told that there are around 186 leopards in this sanctuary. Open jeeps are available for 6 persons accompanied by an official guide. If you are lucky, you could see a leopard. Generally you see a Sambhar or a Neelgai, Sloth bear, Monkeys and wild boars. The track is bumpy. People with spine or heart problem may avoid the bumpy ride.

It's nothing like a safari. No wildlife and now no jungle. It's totally rough terrain of mountain . All other key points like parshuram ji mandir , river origin place etc as told by the safari person or anyone can easily be in reach by your own vehicle with good road. Also there is no control by the government on these. Nothing to pay between 2500-3500 depending upon bargain.

Ranthambore tiger safari is one of the best experience if you see tiger during the visit. Fortunately, we saw tiger named 'Fateh'T-32 the biggest tiger of the ranthambore, and spent almost half an hour with it.

This forest area is full of flora and fauna. Would like to come again with family, but every time you can not hope to see the tigers.
