One of the things I planned to do while in India was to get a tailor made suit. But as the weeks passed I sort of gave up that idea since I felt that most shop owners had a very aggressive sales tactic. Buying a tailor made suit is a personal thing and the tailor should really focus on getting to know the customer instead of peddling as much as possible.
When I got to Udaipur I was recommended to go visit a tailor by the name of Prateek who owns a place called Sandauk. What a great experience! This guy really knows his trade but he also has a great balance between listening and giving advice so that you get the best possible end result. I bought two suits and I’m really happy with the design, fit and quality. Since our bags were pretty full we choose to have it delivered which was very quick and convenient.
I can really recommend a visit to Sandauk whenever you go to Udaipur.

We had three items tailored: a woman's winter coat, and a man's shirt and trousers. Pratik was a very astute tailor, immediately identifying the issues that we have with non-tailored clothes. He took our measurements and once we tried on the clothes, we felt that we looked much better than usual, and no adjustments were required. We had a choice of fabrics and the items were shipped to the UK quickly and smoothly. The items were very affordable compared to tailored clothes in the UK/USA. One warning: if you are not used to hand-made clothes, be sure to ask for advice about caring for them; my linen shirt shrank in the drying machine, but I was able to restore it by following some tips on the internet.

Hand made shirts by Prateek in Udaipur : when I got into the store with my wife, I had no intention to buy a shirt. Prateek started to describe how he works and he seemed so knowledgeable and professional that I decided to get some, but I was leaving early the next morning and Prateek told me he could do the shirts in time and to my satisfaction!
So, we decided to have 3 shirts made. Wow, everything was above my expectations. The shirts were all different, made with great precision and quality.
I am extremely happy with my decision. The 3 shirts are as expected, modern with a relax style, and very well adjusted to me.

I bought a tailored suit here three years ago. I am still wearing this suit today. The work done is of high quality, it is done swiftly, and with qualitative fabric. I recommend.

I really recommend this place to both foreigners and locals. The tailors are highly professional, friendly and focused on your needs. Prices are reasonable, quality is simply outstanding!

Sandouk House of Fashion is the premiere fashion shop in Udaipur and a world class place to get incredible clothes. Pratik Pandya, who has worked at the shop for more than ten years, knows everything about fashion - American, European, Indian, and more - and puts together incredible suits cut from scratch. His materials are top level and the care and attention to detail he has is incredible. I bought my first suit in 2020 when I found my way to his shop, located in the heart of Udaipur, became friends with him and came back for more by making a special trip to Udaipur in 2022 to get another suit. I have received so many compliments on the suits he has made for me, and the second was better than the first. I have also bought suits from him for my friends in America, who have sent him measurements and over video or WhatsApp selected fabrics, and they are very happy with what they got, and want to buy more. I couldn’t recommend this shop more highly, and Pratik will be my tailor for life!

What a wonderful experience, Prat was a not only a superb tailor but an amazing person. So kind and generous and I hope our relationship lasts many years. Feel very lucky to have met such a man and I would recommend anyone in the area to go and visit, even if just for a chat.

Sandouk House of Fashion should be a local landmark. Prateek, Naveem, and Prabhu are not only great tailors, artists, and business people - they're also just really lovely to spend time with. They made a magnificent suit for me, they turned it around in very little time, they dealt tenderly with my general unease with looking in the mirror and guided me in the right directions.
Prateek is wildly charismatic and brilliant, Naveem is a humble voice of reason and constraint, and Prabhu hangs back and takes care of you in ways you realize only after the fact (if he's not busy modeling for foreign print campaigns).
Anyhow - it's difficult not to use superlatives in speaking of this great place. Just go, stay a while, and let them take care of you, and if you've the time - stay a little longer and talk.

While visiting Udaipur, meeting - and working with - Prateek and Naveem was one of the highlights for me. They are extraordinary at what they do. I was truly amazed by their craftsmanship and service, and they gave me all the time I needed to make any decisions regarding fabric, style and finish for the suit. Not a question was too much. Besides that the suit turned out beyond my expectations, they are also beautiful people. They care about their profession, they care about their craft and they care about their customers.
This is a business with its heart in the right place, and the skill of tailoring performed on the highest level. They work with however much time you have and will do their best to accommodate it. This gorgeous suit was created in two days.
Without any doubt, I highly suggest Sandouk House Of Fashion!
