Dharohar, an hour long folk dance show will leave you ecstatic.
This show happens in a chowk in Bagore ki haveli, the seating arrangement is done on the floor. There are more visitors than the available seating space. People who reached earlier, occupied the front seats, rest (like me) kept standing at the back struggling to get the glimpses of the show between the heads of the crowd.

I have been to udaipur many times but got chance to visit this show first time with my two young kids and was very happy that I took them there to witness the local dance forms.
They were in awe of the dancers, dancing with pot with fire on their head, grooving flawlessly with 8-9 pots on their head, enjoyed the puppet show.
I definitely recommend this place to visit if you are in town.

Exceptionally well choreographed cultural show at the very scenic Bagore Ki Haveli on the shores of Lake Pichola. The one hour ensemble included traditional folk dance and songs and a memorable puppet show. The artists are highly skilled in their art and richly colourful costumes exude thd vibe of mystical Rajasthan. Highly recommended for all Indians, NRIs and visitors who wish to experience the true vibe of Rajasthan. Book online in advance to avoid disappointment at the last minute.

This is best cultural event you can witness in Udaipur. Many folk dances and a puppet show is performed by experts. They mesmerise with their performance. You have to go early to get tickets. Tickets are sold out very soon. There are only two shows in evening. If you come early you can sit at Gangaur Ghat and enjoy the lake view around. It is must in list of Udaipur. View from front row sitting on floor is very beautiful.

Once the show starts you will get lost in it. Wasn't expecting a folk dance to be that great. Really admire and respect the hardwork of each artist. The way they are still holding up and taking forward the rich culture of Rajasthan is commendable. You won't feel like taking up your phone to record it but would rather prefer to capture it in your eyes forever.A must visit place if your on a trip to Udaipur.

It should be definitely on your "Things to do" list if you are in Udaipur. The show they put on is amazing with different traditional dances, puppet shows, etc. It was so good that you wish the show has not ended. At some point, you may find yourself sitting on the edge of the seat to see their performance.
I would say that the ticket for this one hour show is really cheap given what you experience there.
The show begins exactly at 7 PM in Bagore Ki Haveli and they start to sell tickets after 6:15 PM at the entrance. If you don't want to miss anything then it is advised to be on time.

One of the most underrated tourist attractions. The dancers and puppet artists present the show with grace and such precision that leaves the audience mesmerized and in complete awe of the rich cultural heritage that our country holds. Keep up the great work!!

Dharohar Folk Dance Show in Bagore ki haveli is a must watch show if you are visiting Udaipur. I felt enriched as the performances were breathtaking and it is very convenient way to know a little about the richness of Rajasthan's culture. The ticket price is also very very nominal. Only thing to be kept in mind is to have tickets purchased before hand as per your itinerary else you may have to face disappointment due to unavailability of tickets the very same day.

Very colourful fast moving show including whirling dervish style dancing, puppetry, balancing of about 10 beautifully painted clay pots on her head, dancing on broken glass on a tray although the glass looked smooth from where I was sitting. A fire dance by three dancers !
All very enjoyable !! The show lasted approximately an hour and only cost R150 plus the same for a camera if you took pictures, That is only around £3 !! I noticed at the end of the show we had to show the tickets that we purchased for the camera or else some people had to pay on the way out. Great ethnic music and dance, don't miss it !!

Dharohar timings are from 7pm to 8pm. Tickets are available from 6 pm onwards. You should reach there latest by 6:30-6:45pm so that you get proper sitting place(few benches). No tickets on line. Lane leading to Dharohar are very narrow and at time be congested so please ensure that you keep 10min spare.
As others have rightly advised you, you should not miss boat ride at Pichola lake and city Palace(take a proper guide). In case you have 2 evenings in Udaipur in your one and half day schedule then you could also see the light and sound show at the city palace on one of the evenings. Enjoy the late evening dinner at one of the roof top lake view restaurants in the city. The view of the lit up hotels and palace is awesome. I could suggest one eg Upre restaurant in lake Pichola hotel(roof top). There are other gardens like Sahelion ki baddi which could be given a miss. There is a rope way cable car ride which children's might enjoy.

The show takes place every night at 7pm there's no need to book. Just turn up buy a ticket at the entrance door and choose your seating area. It gets very crowded. Its well worth it and I think it costs around 100Rs per person.
