Udaipur is one of India’s most impressive cities, a lakeside idyll filled with museums, palaces, and forts. Covering the top sights on your own takes time and planning, but you’ll tick off all the top highlights during this action-packed sightseeing excursion. Marvel at royal painting collections, visit a packed Hindu temple, and upgrade to include a scenic boat ride. You’ll end the day with a colorful Rajasthani cultural show.

I had a fantastic morning here with Jeetu, learning how to paint in the traditional miniature style. He took real care to teach me the techniques and have me practise them before starting my painting, it was a wonderful experience and a very calming way to spend a morning. Jeetu is a kind soul and an excellent teacher. The class took about 4 hours and was excellent value, I definitely rate it as one of the best things that I did during my time in India.

The lovely brothers looked after us for an afternoon of learning about Rajastani Miniature Paintings, demonstrating key techniques and helping us do each do a painting. We learned about the mineral pigments and brushes. We enjoyed the excellent Chai Masala and hospitality! This was a really authentic and enjoyable experience and is highly recommended! Thank you so much!

What more can I say about this family of artists. We met Naresh near the water one evening and got talking about his art. He is genuine and passionate about his art keeping to traditional ways. A couple days later we visited his shop, he explained everything about how each piece is created. We couldn't help but get one. While we were there him and his brother even shared their lunch with us. What a treat! If your looking for beautiful and quality art, with amazing details. Go to Pacific Art, you won't be disappointed.

A little away from all the high pressure - ‘I painted all these paintings myself madam’ area of Udaipur is Pacific Art - elder brother Naresh who was taught by his father and younger brother Jitendra who was taught by Naresh. We didn’t have a class we just enjoyed hearing about the history and techniques used to produce such beautiful works. One of which now looks gorgeous on our dining room wall.
